A bit late to the party, but thrilled just the same.
Decided to launch my portable tools from USB stick. Using SPLAT as a  lightweight alternative to mouser's full-fledged launchbar.

Any chance to make /profile: portable, independent from drive letters?
Something like
\profile:"ProfileName"  or
\profile:"<SPLAT_apppath>\data\"ProfileName"

Or providing a command line parameter that calls up the profile menu - I cannot foresee what hotkeys are already taken when working portable.

Or both? Adding /profile:menu as a parameter in addition to allowing relative paths?

Thanks for another great tool.

Ha, yes indeed, it's been sitting there all the time while I was fretting over wheel directions.  :P
Thanks mouser.
Time to revisit all available settings to treasure-hunt more gems. I am sure I have done this more than once, but obviously some things just don't stick if you read over them too casually.

I can confirm a similar issue to the one reported by Parchuvegal, although I cannot reproduce it anymore. In my case it happened with the old version one time, and although I cannot recall the exact steps, it also had to do with "outsourcing" items from one list to another, completley new list that I had just created. If I remember correctly, the list was created successfully, but then I tried to re-order my lists by drag&drop, which does not work of course. Anyway, somehow I ended up with 2 identical lists, with all the original items of one list gone forever. A very aggravating experience, but since I was unable to reproduce it, I chalked it up to some kind of user error.

What I wished for that time - and still think it might be helpful - auto-backups, so if anything goes wrong, we can revert to the last version before closing down the program and overwriting all lists.

Thank you.
Works great now, with the latest beta.  :)

.. when saving the arrow as an object preset. Not sure if this is intended, but it spoils the idea of presets to a certain extent. Granted, it's also useful in situations when you just want to change sizes and colors, but judging from my own workflows, more often than not, I do want the exact preset I saved, including start and end points.

GREAT.  :)  and thank you very much.
Works flawless. It keeps the already scanned entries upon Cancel, it remembers the recursive option -

Many thanks. Much better now.

And yes, you are right, I was on the wrong track to start with.  :-[  Only now do I really grasp it.

I can do without drag&drop. Re-organizing lists has become easy enough thanks to cut&pastes.
My initial confusion came about because of that bug you corrected. It didn't seem to really cut the entries, they were still there, which made me think I was not using the right context menu. Anyway, all is fine now.

Thank you. Now it works like a charm, custom font, passing files or folders, auto-filtered     :)
I really appreciate it. Not to mention your quick response and speedy implementation.  8)

One more nice-to-have were a STOP button to stop the scanning of large subfolders. Or even better, an option to not scan subfolders at all. Passing a folder with many subs slows down Arti considerably ATM.

Drag&Drop across lists - that would be awesome, to quickly re-organize stuff and outsource it to another list.
ATM this only works via Copy&Paste, then going back to the source, hopefully recalling the entire selection, and deleting it.

Also, I struggled a bit with the right mouse menu, took me a while to realize that "entry data" refers to exactly what it says, the data within the entry, not the entry item itself. It was not immediately obvious because using Ctrl+C to copy/paste the selected item elsewhere does work as well, although it seemed iffy (you have to exit and restart to see it actually did work)

As an idea: Moving Ctrl Shift C/V up to Insert Entry, to make it obvious where it belongs and keep it together within the same seperator section.

Nice tool.
It were nice to have thumbnails, but that's probably not easy to implement.
What would help also, however, were a bigger font size (optional).

Any way to pass a directory to it via command line? Maybe even with a filter-parameter to show image files only?

Screenshot Captor / Re: Print Template
« on: January 24, 2015, 03:41 AM »
So we have a Word template, that contains this all.
For the file-name we have the text <Fine-Name>, for the image we have the placeholder <Screen>.

Screenshot Captor shoud recognize the tags <Fine-Name> and <Screen> and replace them with the data taken fromn the screen shot.
Seems like a tall order for SC to crawl under the hood of Word and fill their placholders.
Shouldn't this work the other way round? Word filling it's own placeholders in an automated process with a suitable Word makro? Recorded and customized to start a new page after every paste and proceed until it has processed a given folder?

:) Thanks a ton. I really appreciate it, the super-quick implementation and that you made both options available, the hotkey and the command line parameter.  8)

This raises the Windows experience to a whole new level, everything is suddenly so much more fun, it even spices up tedious maintenance chores.

@TaoPhoenix
Multi-layer effects are indeed interesting.
Concerning the command line - you know you can move your .lnk shortcuts into C:\Users\YourName\Sendto
This turns them from drop targets into right-mouse entries. You right-click an image file anywhere and hand it over to one of your lucidity presets.

I understand.
Actually, it's not necessary, I just discovered the Hotkey toggle which makes it easy enough to disable the effect on the fly.

It were nice, though - unless I am missing something again - to have quicker access to opacity levels. Either by hotkey to bring up the slider or to step up/down directly. Or to have a command line parameter for setting up various presets. Different backdrops call for different opacity levels.

The SysTray is not readily available in many situations. Even if Win settings don't hide the bar, there are fullscreen programs that won't allow it to come up on hover. Just an observation from my user experience so far, but no big deal, either. Overall, I am very satisfied. Great tool, I only wish I'd  come across it sooner.

Many thanks.  Great piece of software.
I use it in combination with all my writing pograms, and it spices up their canvas nicely.
The -nosetwall parameter and the transparency slider are outstanding. Great stuff.

My only wish left: An exception list, to exclude my browser and file manager from being affected.

LaunchBar Commander / How to create link nodes
« on: January 17, 2015, 07:07 AM »
I always manage to create them in the end, but getting there is never a straight path.
Could someone please correct my workflow:

1) I create a new node, a "real" one, I enter the path to the exe etc. All fine, never experienced any problems

2) I make a note of the ID for this new node.

3) I drill down another branch to create another new node. I use the type-dropdown on the right side to assign the type "link" to it. I enter the ID of the source node from above, ....  and then what?
Any other mandatory entries I need to make?
Sometimes I enter a caption, but it seems this is not necessary. I always click Save.

I leave the config dialog, my menu shows the functional entry from step 1 - but none of the link nodes I created. I enter the config dialog again, and do nothing different, really, other than repeating step 3 - and on these subsequent go-arounds I have always managed to somehow generate the link node. Just wondering...

Screenshot Captor / Mouse-wheel zooms reverse
« on: January 08, 2015, 04:18 AM »
A small grit in my daily mouse movements:
SC zooms IN by rolling the wheel away from the screen
Other software zooms IN by rolling closer towards the pic and not away from it.

Nothing wrong with either approach, just a matter of convention: MS Office, Firefox, File Managers including Win Explorer - all follow the 2nd approach. Reinforced by these programs, you habitually find yourself zoom-wheeling the wrong way in SC (or everywhere else if SC is your main hangout)

Bottom line of my fussbudget observation: It wouldn't hurt to bring SC in line with the majority, just for the sake of convenience.

Thanks a million for adding this feature.  :) I love it
Have not enough time to test it thoroughly ATM. Will use it on real life scenarios after the holidays and report back.
What's already obvious at first glance - this is a huge step forward in useability. Thank you.

68
Thanks. That did the trick. It works fine now.

"Program Options 2", what do you have for Custom Internet Browser?
Nothing, the whole field is empty.
Firefox is my default browser which opens the help.html files when dbl-clicking them directly after I call up their folder by Ctrl-clicking their file names in LBC. I discovered I can also right-click them from LBC and choose OPEN which works fine too, so again, no worries here if it's too much hassle to fix it.

70
You're right, doesn't happen with chm and txt - never noticed that it does indeed only occur with html files.

71
Step by step:
I add a 2nd level subtree on the left side
I assign it the Node Tye: Folder
Checkmark "Divide Leter Groups" = ON
Root Folder to Display: ..\MyHelp
Accept File Patterns: *.htm*|*.chm

That's about it. The folder "MyHelp" contains the output of my personal wiki-system, exported mostly as html, some longer topics as chm. Some have file names like "JPEG Illuminator.html" or "A + B Company.html". No error message or anything, LCB simply refuses to do anything with them. Renaming them to "JPEG_Illuminator" and "A_+_B_Company" solves the problem.

I am on Win7.

72
In the middle of file names, the blanks between words. Replacing them with underscores solves the problem, but that has repurcussions on other programs that depend on these files.

Not something I could not live with, just wanted to mention it. If you can fix it easily, great, if not, I'll keep opening their parent folder.

LaunchBar Commander / Folder Node does not like spaces in filenames
« on: December 07, 2014, 03:04 AM »
It will list all existing files, but upon clicking opens only those without spaces in the name.

No big deal, I can simply Ctrl click to open the containing folder. But it were more comfortable not having to take this detour.

LaunchBar Commander / Multiple file patterns
« on: October 28, 2014, 04:22 AM »
My settings:
Node Type: Folder
Root Folder to display: ..\MyHelp
Accept File patterns: *.htm*;*.chm

Nothing shows up. If I remove the chm file type, however, it does work as expected. Launchbar help says you could combine multiple patterns with a semi-colon, but no matter what variations I tried (with spaces, with ending ;) it doesn't work here.
