Living Room / Is Betanews....
« on: September 29, 2006, 02:38 AM »
verification system down? I signed up as a member many days ago and has yet received a verify email.
Tried emailing them but no replies. My gmail spam is empty too.

Do they block gmail?

-jerk free (hope it stays that way)

Yeah hope so but usually "big" forums attract many jerks. :(

Found Deals and Discounts / Re: McAfee for free
« on: September 26, 2006, 07:26 PM »
You can use the "free" license to migrate to Dr.Web at 50% discount. :D

That is if you like Dr.Web. ;)

I think the offer ends at 30 Sep but from what the forums at Wilders said, these kind of offers is very common. :p

Thanks for the prize. :)

General Software Discussion / Opera new bug?
« on: September 25, 2006, 05:03 PM »
Not sure if this is new or old news.
Only for those who use master password.

Here are the steps that make it stop working:

1) Use Wand
2) Cancel Prompt
3) Use Wand
4) Enter Master Password
5) Log Out
6) Use Wand

And no more prompts until you exit and restart Opera. If you share computers, that may be a problem.

LaunchBar Commander / Re: Borders
« on: September 21, 2006, 08:36 AM »
After I reboot the pc, the "access violation" is gone. Can't reproduce it with the same steps.
Strange...Oh well, I will wait for the borders fix then. ;)

LaunchBar Commander / Re: Borders

Oh and when I use the preset "controlpanel" in a folder node, the entry is blank. And when I delete the node, I get "access violation" and all the icons in my treelist got moved up a notch.

I will try and reproduce it to confirm coz my current pc has no problems.

Any ideas on removing the borders? I tried the thin thick border option but nothing changed.
See the attached image....

Hi,

Can I just use the installer to install over the old version?

General Software Discussion / Re: My favorite software! What's yours?
« on: September 20, 2006, 11:14 PM »
My favorite goes to FirstDefense-ISR. Backup is fast and reliable. Saves me from "bad" software.

Others will be:
- Opera (no more buggy FF extensions! yay!)
- System Safety Monitor (very active in development)
- Becky! Internet Mail (love its simplicity)
- LaunchBar Commander (best useful free software I've ever used in my life)

Best E-mail Client / TheBat! Questions
« on: September 19, 2006, 03:26 AM »
Hi guys,

I like to know if updating TheBat by installing over previous version will cause any problems?
Had bad experience with other software although their faqs recommend it. So I like some views from long term users of TheBat.

And do you guys know their version release patterns? Eg: Releasing a major version every 6 months or per year?
Thanks in advance.
