Thank you for the link.  The particular cumulative fix is not yet installed on this computer.  We will wait until tomorrow and see.
Screenshot is the only screen capture software that is affected by this on my machine.

« on: September 09, 2019, 02:21 PM »
Greetings.  Starting today (or a couple of days ago), a tint is covering the whole screen on any screen capture.
Windows did do an update.  I'm at windows 10.  Any idea on what causes this and how to fix it?
I've attached 2 images, one with the tint and an earlier one that does not have it.
Thanks!

sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't.  I'm sorry I can't find a perfectly repeatable sequence of steps that would reproduce the problem.

I have 2 screen prints that show the problem.  But I don's see a way to post a file here.
Here are 2 links to the screen prints on Dropbox:

As you can see, the last screen shot was 1837.  When I shutdown and restarted the computer, it came backup with 1817.

No, I don't have that checked.  One other thought, I'm not using the default "save" directory.

If I manually exit, then restart it, it appears to work fine.  So you post about windows shutting down to fast may be true.
I'll have to give that a test the next time I reboot.  I'll post then.

Yes, that is correct.

I use the auto-increment file naming option.  If I set the number to say, 100 and do a bunch of screen captures (save but not show), everything works correctly.  When I reboot the computer and reload ScreenCapture, it starts  over again at 100, not where it left off when I rebooted.
