I went to this page:

And then clicked on the top headline (2.4.4 release candidate),
which brought me to a page with download links at the bottom of the page.
(it can be misleading because when you click on the link the page text may not change other than the links at the bottom of the new page).

Actually, the "links" are there even before you click the headline, you have to "unfold" the Assets at the bottom of the first entry.

Good for you... I have, sadly Different DPI displays are one thing and Theme changes / other "events" another as that might glitch out the positioning (though that can usually be fixed by a right-click->refresh

you can use T-Clock to synchronize the time via command line (if running as administrator)... but there's no automatic mechanism with an interval to be set.

Quite nifty. Thanks. I had never realised that feature was there until you mentioned it earlier in this thread. Anyway, I tried it and it seems to work just fine. I shall use it in future, but shall retain RestartExplorer to use for those times when the Start Menu is playing up and one cannot select anything in or below the Systray (this is when the Start Menu is vertical on the LHS).

Well... actually you can call this T-Clock function via command line as well Should be documented within the `T-Clock Help.rtf`
Though yeah, IIRC it requires T-Clock to hook the tray first, so it might not work if the explorer freezes or something like that.

It's weird that the NirSoft program doesn't work they're pretty good usually. (even though "basic")
When I've talked about restarting the explorer, I've meant the T-Clock way Why not use it when it's there?
@Hrafn could you try T-Clock's method to see if that is able to restart explorer?

Once again, it works like this: hold down "Ctrl" and Right-Click T-Clock to open the "extended" menu, at the bottom (below "Exit T-Clock") you should see some extended functionality and "Restart Explorer" (if your Ctrl key is broken, you may use Shift instead.. or use both)

Thanks for replying. I actually begin to remember seeing something like that too...
Though I suspect it has to do with the hidden notifications button. Will hide it on my end for now, so I might or might not experience the same soon

T-Clock can do that too If you Ctrl+Right-Click it. Though it can be pretty slow as explorer sometimes hates to quit properly...

When did you move to Windows 10?
What did you use to capture the "screenshot"?
T-Clock seems to be correctly positioned, but there's this "black" rectangle, correct? The "Notifications" button is visible right next to it?
Also, what happens when you click on either the "black" rectangle or the visible part of T-Clock?
How does the mouse-over look, will it also clip where the rectangle is?


Ever tried to Right-Click T-Clock and use "Refresh T-Clock"?
Restarting T-Clock or the Explorer (eg. through the way mentioned above) should "fix" it without requiring to reboot.

I'm afraid you're not missing anything. A proper scheduler is indeed missing (well the backend supports it now, but I haven't done the frontend yet)
I can't really give you an eta. either... it's part of the UI improvements I'd like to add and that stuff isn't that easy to implement. (well, I'm actually more stuck at design decisions)

So T-Clock is currently not what you're looking for.

unfortunately, it's currently not possible to use UTC (absolute) offsets.
Those relative offsets are all it can do for now. (and they only adjust the hour, not the displayed day / any date format)

Here's a feature request regarding UTC: #154
I might consider to implement it soon though... after the next final release and without the format rewrite I had planned... but I guess one more format shouldn't hurt that much (and it's taking me way to long to do anything anyway)

There's no real need to clarify...
Your linked downloads don't mention any MSVC++ Runtime at all, since the default T-Clock distribution is now using GCC.

Then yes, they liked the SP1 version... Though, my Github page also links to the latest MSVC++ 2010 Runtime which happens to be SP1 (in case someone wants the MSVC version rather than the GCC version)

Whether or not the user is using SP1 or not, shouldn't impact T-Clock directly. The latest version is always recommended, but older versions would work just as fine (usually)

you're right about your "guess", it's a known problem. See: #65 and #72 (Pull request)
It's not that easy to fix... though I might consider adding an "high-DPI" check to simply remove that mono-spaced font for the time being. It'll probably take forever for the UI rewrite

Well, I don't think there's anything you could do right now, other than disabling fast-boot if you want Windows to always do a full boot without caching.

I'll have to figure out some other way to calculate the uptime, I guess Task Manager is able to do it. Though it might use an undocumented Windows API like NtQuerySystemInformation()

what does your customized advanced clock format look like?

It's quite possible that Windows 10's fast-boot messes things up a bit.. so if you open an cmd.exe window and run ' systeminfo ' it might show a different "System Boot Time" than expected.

Seems like you've got an old version there... that one doesn't distinguish 32bit and 64bit OSes so that you'll need to be careful which one to run. It also meant you've got the 32bit process stuck... if you'd just killed that, you'd be free to go.

Anyway, it also seems like you've downloaded the source code of 'my' version, so that wouldn't work either You'll have to download the binaries. Though you're then free to start either Clock.exe or Clock64.exe (Clock.exe is the safest bet as it'll just start Clock64 if needed)

well.. there isn't anything special to do... just close T-Clock and extract the new files over your old ones.. worst thing that could theoretically happen, would be to have left over files lying around... (especially when coming from Stoic's original version.. though since that didn't support a portable mode, it's save to delete unless you've stored some files manually)

Except for the startup setup and user created relative paths, T-Clock doesn't really care about its location, so you could always delete the old folder (and copy/save/backup your T-Clock.ini in case the portable mode is used)

you did extract all files from the archive though? (also didn't mess with their folder structure?)
IIRC the Calendar wasn't made to complain about missing T-Clock DLL or load errors... only the main executable does.
You could also try to close T-Clock and run the 32bit Clock.exe to see if that works... since that's using the same DLL.

hmm... it seems to be rather a theme issue... in combination with TranslucentTB.
It's sadly not the first theme related issue and I haven't yet figured out to have T-Clock behave exactly like Windows does... it's not really documented.

I might be able to figure something out if you could name your Windows theme, but the odds aren't generally good...

I would have to try TranslucentTB myself... it's either that their app doesn't support T-Clock or that T-Clock is doing its stuff in a "weird" and incompatible.. I'll see if I can fix it, otherwise you have to ask them to add support.

I assume you used the "default" binaries (those without _vc2010 appended) so it shouldn't be "DLL Hell"

I'm interested to know if the executable gets to run at all, which might require to use a logging or even debug build.. though, it'll take a bit longer to setup the build system for that.

I couldn't find the source code for it, so I can't really tell what's wrong (also not T-Clock's problem) but you should probably take a look at those color controls...

Well it makes it "transparent"... Only issue: the underlying taskbar becomes visible that way... so it doesn't create a "hole" there...
By using the "default" color, it should have the same color as the rest of the taskbar.
