I have been trying to find a small program to simply display just one image centre screen for x no of seconds - settable if possible even in an ini file or something. Just needs to enter 2 parameters: the time to display and the name of the graphic file. Range is somewhere like 5 - 20 secs secs and then terminate and that's it.

You can use my Frameless program found here: https://www.dcmembers.com/skwire/download/frameless/

You can find the parameters here: https://www.dcmembers.com/skwire/wp-content/uploads/sites/5/apps/frameless/readme.txt

Use the "duration=hh:mm:ss" parameter to accomplish what you want.

Post New Requests Here / Re: Create Song Playlist

For instance:  Elton John

Years ago, I wrote an audio player called Trout.  Mouser and myself might be the only users of it left.  Hahahaha.   :P

Within Trout is a hidden media browser that I never quite finished (hence why it's hidden).  Here's a screenshot with "Artist contains 'Elton John'" as a search:

Astute viewers will notice that it was a Shoutcast and Icecast browser as well.  At any rate, because it's within Trout, it supports the same audio and tag formats that Trout does:

  • Supported audio formats (standard): AIFF, AIF, AIFC, MP1, MP2, MP3, OGA, OGG, WAV, MO3, XM, MOD, S3M, IT, & MTM.
  • Supported audio formats (with plugins): FLAC, WMA, WMP, WMV, ASF, MID, MIDI, RMI, KAR, WV, WVC, AAC, MP4, M4A, M4B, M4P, APE, AC3, SPX, TTA, OFR, MPC, ALAC, & OPUS.
  • Supported tag formats: ID3v1, ID3v2.2/3/4, OGG/FLAC Vorbis comments, WMA, APEv2, & MP4/ALAC/AAC.

Once it's loaded, searches are quick (note the status bar in the screenshot).  With a little work, and if I can find the time, this is most of the way to what you're requesting.

General Software Discussion / Re: Major software project redesign

This video by the project lead developer (who goes by the  name of Tantacrul) walks us through the design process that was employed to fix MuseScore for its latest release.

Great video.  As a developer and UX lover, I could watch videos like this all day long.

General Software Discussion / Re: Lastpass hacked proper

Been using Keepass for years, it syncs to iDrive Cloud Drive, (mainly as a backup but also so I have access to the database file via browser/app if needed), and via OneDrive sync plugin which the Android app uses as the database, (syncing any local changes back to it which then propagate to computers).

Keepass user for many years as well.  I also use a similar online setup to yours to gain access from my phone and to sync back changes.
