Fido knew how to do message quoting, too. UseNet standards -- the ones we mostly all use now -- are far nastier.   ;)
Do you mean: http://www.riddle.ru...dl/fido/FSC-0032.001 ?
I thought it is Usenet standard (at least the one I had used on NNTP groups).

I agree that some of the current ways are totally messy.

@Carol Haynes
Thank you very much for your help. As soon as I get into right mood I will definitely try again (although I am against complete Comodo removal).

The truth is I've already tried many, many solutions. I just try to complain after making some effort to not to ;)

I have already played with:
- various drivers versions - sound, graphics & others (i.e. MS Redistribuables);
- services and registry tricks - by a hand (with backups);
- software removal - Avira, FFDshow, TortoiseHg (got source control on save games :) ), etc.;

I did not try cracks or other PCs:
- the only other machine I can use is work laptop but it has too many monitoring apps to run it nicely. And HDD on it is relatively small.
- I don't want to get pissed to see it working not on *my* PC.  On the other hand, it would not be comfortable for both parties to ask someone to step over from his computer any time I'd like to play.

OK Enough for being an old geezer ;)

255
Are you running security software while playing? Some security products can screw games up (I have read of a number of issues with other games with NOD32 in particular).
Yep: Comodo package but I really doubt that's the cause. I have truly enough of blaming other apps. Dozen of games running perfectly well on the same machine without any issues - even Source Engine games like HL2, L4D or... Portal (first).

What is strange: L4D2 campaign called SuicideBlizz has some P2 elements as Easter Egg and they work OK.

I suspect the problem must lie in your computer somewhere as it doesn't seem to be a widely reported issue on any of the support platforms.

I classify this as:
Game crash after the loading screen

256
If your files go corrupt that often, aren't you worried about your HDD health? :-s
It's not the case of "files corrupted that often".

Only Portal 2 has it this way:
1. integrity check = error
2. downloading fix
3. integrity check = OK
4. starting game
5. crash
6. goto 1

I have over 200GB of games on this partition and no other game has such issues. Even crappy F:NV doesn't show integrity errors (despite of CTDs).

AddThis for the rescue? ;)

@nudone
May be off topic but did you try to customize Clear Type?

My own LCD was hurting my eyes until I found:

3) Freezing on the first screen isn't normal - have you checked the files are not corrupted in some way? Again go to the game properties and check the file integrity.
-Carol Haynes (July 17, 2011, 03:19 AM)
They are corrupted and I know it but how many times one person can re-check integrity or reinstall whole game? I have enough of it after more than 10 times for first and at least 3 for latest.

Developer's Corner / Re: JavaScript / jQuery Editor Suggestions?
« on: July 19, 2011, 01:21 PM »
I am trying to find decent one (free or not totally overpriced) for a long time and I am keeping with NetBeans. Unfortunately, while there are dozens (hundreds?) of nice HTML editors, JS support is pretty basic.

For overpriced solution, while Dreamweaver sucks a little with editing features it is still is good enough for JS though.

No, basically you just need yourself.
I disagree. Just by yourself you can only get imaginary friend :p

For real people you need to interact with them somehow. You need to communicate and how you are doing it is what truly matters. Listen to them, talk to them, shake your hands... smile. You need some methods and tools to do so. The quicker you find shared interests the stronger the bond may be. Simple letters, ICQ, email or FB are just tools - one more appealing than others. Of course, real contact is the most important thing here but not the only one. I don't need Internet to make friends or to keep them but I may need it to get the quickest possibility of contact.

If I had wife I would rather call her and ask about buying groceries when I am leaving my work, instead of going home, asking and making few more miles back for it.

If your ways of staying in touch are good for you then stay with them. Same way I just stay with FB.

[back to topic]
I just think there is nothing in G+ I could need there so far. I am not saying I will never go G+ 'cause there is small possibility that I may not be aware I may need something from there. I doubt it but not denying.

...Hm. I've just felt philosophically uncertain. Reason: I loudly reject HTML emails  :o

You need the internet for your real friends?
We can make any statement ridiculous this way.

Let's go back few decades and discuss about:
- Do we need letters for our real friends?
- Do we need cars for them?
:D

What does Facebook offer? Virtual friends?
Real ones, at least for me. They were the only reason why I had to "go into social". I was against all of this but got used to. It's like new phone for me: old one works perfectly well (calls, alarms and SMSes), so no new wave is going to made me change it.

As for virtual friends... most of them I have here, at DC ;)

Few invitations received and all of them marked as spam :)

I can't simply find anything tasty in G+. I know I am using Gmail, Search and maps (sometimes) but I don't want more of it. It is enough information for Google tracking my activities.

Being worried about my stuff I can't trust G with anything more as docs or photos (in addition: I think Picassa is someone's mistake).

Although I live on Facebook it is OK for me as long as it's not connected to everything else I do/share.

What could G+ offer for people like me?

271
Despite the fact of using Facebook I am rather against the Cloud and an idea of sharing *everything*. I simply prefer to keep my valuable data for my eyes only.

I believe, that a least you will be able to run it. All I can get from P2 is first loading screen. Worst spent money ever!
