Why does it have to have the word "clip" in its name? You could call it Globulator, or Fantastabolic Paster, the kids will love it.

None of them seem to be available in my country. God, this pisses me off. Argentine auction sites have zero remote controls for computers... I guess I'll have to go in-store shopping soon (haven't done that in a while for technology, heh).

Hey there. I think you already know what the question's gonna be: whats the best remote that you can buy for your computer?

I would consider: size, features, drivers stability and expandability, etc.
Some of them such as Remote Wonder support plugins to extend the functionality of the drivers. (http://remotew.free.fr/plugins.htm)
I will be obviously using this for controlling playback of video files on a XP machine, probably using BSPlayer.

the truth is i probably don't do enough with either of these programs for it to matter which one i use - hence the eternal swapping around.

That's exactly why I didn't know which one to use at first, but then I stayed with ClipMate just because I read a little tutorial found in the help file, so I know some commands that I don't for ClipCache. But they seem very similar to me.

I am a little younger and I live in South America, so my first computer back in 87 (roughly, can't remember the exact year) was a Commodore 64, connected to TV set. I didn't have a diskette drive, so I had a bunch of cassette tapes filled with games and in the back, the names of the games with their respective "time" for finding them with the tape player's counter. I had lots of fun with this thing until I got my first PC in '91. I remember a game called Henry's House which I loved!

I didn't expect so many helpful replies, thanks a lot guys! I liked ClipCache better first because it is lighter, and seems to run faster; but then I figured that it doesn't have some of the options that make ClipMate so unique (such as the Safe). Some other things are just better in ClipMate (such as searching for clips). I think I'll stick to this one.

Hi there. First of all, I don't know if I'm posting in the right forum, sorry if I got it wrong.

Now to the question: from time to time I'm in the need of an application that would change the way I copy/paste. Something that has a history of objects that had been on the clipboard, so that I can access them later quickly, without the need of using my mouse. About 5 years ago, I browsed entire categories from download.com, tucows.com, and some other software indexing sites looking for a tool that performed these tasks efficiently, but found none. Now, I was about to do that again until I remembered about these forums and that most of you guys like exploring new tools, so maybe you already know such tool, and can help me out with suggestions.

For non-standard items, check the following registry key:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\MenuExt

For managing searches and such, see this site. They have a tool for doing it.

If there's a way that it can be done using the keyboard, then it's highly probable that I'm going to leave the mouse untouched.

I hit the <TAB> key when having to log-in. Once you've selected any user, you can switch between them using the <UP> and <DOWN> cursor keys.

I know I'm now answering your question about a way of auto-selecting your username, but this will speed up things by removing the necessity of having to use your laptop's touchpad.
