Mini-Reviews by Members / Re: Mini-Review: Realtime Landscaping
« on: January 27, 2012, 05:03 AM »
Intro:[/b]

Realtime Landscaping is a software program for helping you design and visualize landscaping ideas.  It's used mainly to plan walkways, fences, flower beds, and other outdoor structures.

This is exactly what I have been looking for a while now. I am so happy that I have found it finally here. I want to redo my garden and therefore I have been looking for such a software. I already have an idea how my garden will look like but it would be fantastic to visualize it first in order to be absolutely sure that I will want it like I am planning to. If I have done that I will order flowers online and then start my garden project.

Coding Snacks / Re: Controlling Windows w/ gamepad like a PS3 or XBOX

I think there are already a lot of research about this idea and on our own computing laboratory, we have a functioning game pad used to control the computer interface.  That is with the help of a plug-in running on the system tray though, but just like how your Mac magic mouse connects to your notebook through bluetooth.  The problem in my opinion would be control though.

Living Room / Re: SOPA Shelved - ACTA is Worse

Well, I would have figured that they will come back with something stronger with the SOPA/PIPA being put on hold. They are just not going down without a fight, and a good and strong one at that.

What they are probably going to do is give some leeway to those aspects that made people click and capitalize on those that aren't much recognized.  ACTA, one for the kill here.

It really depends on what you are going to intend the use for.

I mean, I reckon that would be more appropriate where there is real need for some interaction between the machine and the user, which as said is just the perfect setup for a receiving counter.

But nevertheless, you could always go for it just because it is a trusted brand and the technology is relatively new for your consumption.

Living Room / Re: Is our perception of worth/value affected by venue?

Well, I think that people appreciate talent more when they see it in the proper setting and usually, our perception is a little off when we are situated in a place where we don't usually see that kind of stuff.  Which makes me wonder if people really see talent or, in some way, just goes with what others things just so they would not be left out, it could be the perfect argument right?
