Ok, I checked my receipt....I bought my mouse on September 7th. When I got home I popped in the included batteries (Energizers). I've used it heavily each day since. Today, finally, the batteries had to be replaced.

Some cool features, but tons of bugs. I immediately found that I couldn't add text onto the stamps...stamps that are speech balloons...

PicPick kind of blows it away and at a fraction of the size. Plus it's a standalone application. Considering its plethora of features, it's a shame about its crappy scroll capture however (only IE...?????).

A shot showing off just a few of the tools available.

Coding Snacks / Re: [request] Hide Show desktop icons
« on: November 08, 2007, 01:46 PM »
I found that the one you suggested, actually hid my desktop widgets along with the desktop icons. This is obviously not the effect i was going for.

I've used Iconoid with AveDesk and Rainmeter. I've never seen this behaviour.

I don't think I get it. Seems like clicking a tray icon would be just as much of an effort.

Try Iconoid. 0 effort!

I agree with Mouser about the rechargeable annoyance. Many times I too have had to plug in my wired mouse because I forgot to charge the @#$%ing thing or the batteries ran out. I had an expensive Logitech MX 1000...one day I just put the thing on the floor and jumped on it.

I bought a Microsoft Wireless Laser Mouse about 2 months ago, hooked everything up, put the batteries in....it's still working fine today on those 2 AA batteries (to my astonishment).

I'd guess Particle Illusion may have been used.

ClickyMouse is a macro program that let's you assign actions to screen edges. Very expensive just to invoke Alt+Tab though!

TopDesk is basically an Alt+Tab replacement. I tried it out a while ago and I'm positive it has this feature.  (Again, not free and probably too resource intensive for this kind of task.)

Have you ever heard of KatMouse? It doesn't do what you requested, but it does let you switch windows with an assigned mouse button. Many people here will probably recommend it as well. You could also use X-Mouse Button Control to map alt+tab to a mouse button, you can also make it application specific. You could also use this in combination with Alt-Tab Thingie or TaskSwitchXP and for convenience, set it to "sticky" mode.

heheh, like I said! The colour of the menu bar at the top is dark like my Firefox toolbar so I didn't even see it there! hahaha  ;D

Dirhael, I think iceskin was referring to the image on the desktop that you posted. I don't think he'll find it on your forum considering there's no actual wallpapers there! (unless I'm missing something so obvious I can't see it ;) )

Please post the link to the author or site of the image. Thanks.

General Software Discussion / Remap Mouse Buttons
« on: October 20, 2007, 03:28 PM »
I just did a fresh nLite install and wanted to get rid of IntelliPoint. Anyway, I integrated the drivers for my MS mouse but didn't want to be dependent on the bloated software that let's me remap the keys.

Today I found X-Mouse Button Control, a nice little program that does just what I want without all that other crap that I won't ever use. Now when I click the right side button, my clipboard (ClipX) pops up just where I need it.

Capture-107.png

A Few of the options in those combo boxes:

  •     Copy/Cut/Paste
  •     Volume Up/Down/Mute
  •     Media Player control
  •     Send a custom keystroke sequence
  •     Launch you email (or any) application.
  •     Capture screen (or active window) image to clipboard.
  •     Click-Drag [Sticky Buttons].
  •     Vista support with some Vista only featurs such as 'Show Sidebar', 'Flip 3D' etc.

Nice!

Just create a shortcut to force shutdown and your problem should be solved.

Funyt
There's a program called Nubs that I think does exactly what you're looking for. Here's our review with some screenshots as to how it works.

Funky. Terrible little program....so buggy. I'll stick with ThumbWin, which does not do exactly as ordered, but it keeps things very neat, and best of all, it's stable!

LClock let's you hide the start button also. Unlike some other methods, with LClock, you don't get that empty space where the button was. Also, you can set it so you can click on the clock for the start menu.
