I did it and .... you're right, :Thmbsup: Sir! All problems fixed. 2.36.03 installed and working properly (Incl. license key). Thanks, Mouser for help! Greetings, pitrpaulus.

Hi Mouser, I re-installed version 2.35 and now everything works fine. Forgive me that I temporarily do not upgrade to 2.36 (to avoid the mentioned problems) because I just had a very bad month with lots of problems with Vista, Updates, lot-of-e-mails with Microsoft etc. and finally I had to install Vista all-over-again. The whole trouble and fine tuning of all my installed programs after the re-install cost me more than one month. So at the moment I'm afraid to encounter new problems. Version 2.35 works fine. Maybe late I  will upgrade.
Greetings, PitrPaulus.

 :Thmbsup: Mouser, b.t.w.: ScreenShot Captor I use frequently! It very, very handy to make screenprints and marked it over the page with arrows, words etc. This way one can point out exactly what you mean about a screen/program.
Thanks!

p.s. 2.35 was installed on my computer.

Hello Mouser,
This is pitrpaulus from Holland. I have, via the DC Coder uppdater update my Screen Shot Captor and now in the newest version I have the problems with the license code under Windows Vista. In earlier Captors I didn't have any problems (also Vista).
Can you help me pls.
Attached are some screenprints. The problem is that the download is good, also installing is ok, but wehn I enter the license-code it seems that the screen locks.
And when I go to the updater I got the message that version 2.35 is still there and that 2.36 has to be updated.
Hope to hear from you. Greetings  PitrPaulus.

Thanks for the answer. As I already wrote, this Microsoft solution is not helpful. I did the " reg delete HKLM\COMPONENTS /v StoreDirty" but this solution doesn't work. Also looked in Google and many people had the same problem but -till so far for me- there is not a helping solution.

Good Day, During manually Windows (Vista) Update: I got the following message:
WindowsUpdate_80073712 WindowsUpdate_dt000. Error 80073712/ Text (tranlated from Dutch) " Cannot look for Windows Update". MS database searched. Also looked in Google and many people had the same problem but -till so far for me- there is not a helping solution. Has anybody had this error also during manually Windows update? I can see in the history of updates that since August 20 there have not been any updates from Microsoft neither for Windows Defnder.
Hope to hear from you. If you reply, pls. make it not too difficult; I 'm just an ordinary computer-user, not a programmer ;)   Thanks, PitrPaulus.

Hello and Good Day. I'v got the answer, from a Dutch Forum, called 'Nucia'.
To inform you about this I will TRY to translate the Dutch answer, that solved the problem, in English:

I changed something in the autorun.inf root of the LaCie disk. (And that guy made for me the blue LaCie icon with the .ico extension, that I dropped in the root of LaCie).

In the root was:
[Autorun]
open=.\MigWiz\migsetup.exe
icon=.\MigWiz\migsetup.exe
action=@.\MigWiz\nl-NL\migsetup.exe.mui,-109

And I changed it to:

[Autorun]
open=.\MigWiz\migsetup.exe
icon= lacie.ico
action=@.\MigWiz\nl-NL\migsetup.exe.mui,-109

Not complicated but to find exactly THIS solution was a long, long way....

I hope that it is quite clear now. The problem is solved over here.

Thanks for help and thinking. Greetings from Holland! PitrPaulus.

GoodDay, Thanks for your answer and help. I downloaded and installed this program. As far as I know, after installing nothing has changed with the (wrong/missing) icon. But sometimes when I start-up the computer the next day things suddenly got that better. Strange?! Maybe. I hope so. If *yes* I surely let you know. Greetings from PitrPaulus.

HELP!!!!
(pitrpaulus)

June 22, 2007
Hello and Good Day. I bought a new PC with Windows Vista and installed a LaCie drive; Now the LaCie ICON is MISSING. How can I get the icon back??
I followed the steps on the Lacie website (" To change the drive icon:
# Do “Get Info” (command i) on both the hard drive and the icon file.
# The icon for each will show in the upper left corner of the “Get Info” window.) but that doesn't work. (Command i ???).  :(
I think they wrote it for Windows XP.
Who can help me pls?
Thanks from PiterPaulus.
(see also screenprint).

Hello lanux128, That's it! I found the right thing, the HID Device, and now disabled the ' wake-up'  button.
Hope this will solve the problem but anyway: What you learned me is loud and clear! Thanks a lot!
Pitr Paulus

37
Great lanux128! Clear with the screenshot. Yes, I saw this screen you showed now so I know where I have to be....
but ... when I read the Asus quote To fix this, simply uncheck "Allow this device to bring the computer out of standby" for your USB mouse and PS/2 keyboard under "Device Manager", if you do not desire to wake the system via your USB mouse and/or PS/2 keyboard do you have any idea under which map I have to look?
Hope you know that.
Thanks and greetings, PitrPaulus.

38
By the way: I know the Control Panel etc., that's not the problem. PitrPaulus.

39
Hello and Good Day,
It's very difficult for me to translate this to Dutch. I really have no idea when I follow you in the Control Panel. There nothing like ' Device Manager'.
I tried to make some screenshots but that doesn't work. :mad:
Will you pl be so kind to send a screenshot so that I can see where this is, and than I compare the screenshot with my Control Panel and push the right buttons.
Thanks in advance. Greetings, PitrPaulus.

 :Thmbsup: Great, Guys! That looks (very) good. When I'm home from work I'll check it directly. I looks quite clear and easy > Hope it will go that way.
I'll keep you posted one of these days. Greetings, PitrPaulus.  :)

GoodDay,
I have problems with the sleep-mode and the stand-by mode on my Vista installation: after sometime the computer goes into the sleep/standby-mode. But the waking up is hardly difficult. Sometimes it works, sometimes not. And when I shut down the computer I got messages that this was not done properly.
The same problem when I set the computer by hand in the standby or sleep-mode. I changed both, I mean: first I thougt it was sleeping-mode that caused problems, then I changed to standby, but the problems remain.
I've been reading a lot of articles about it but cannot solve the problem.

ASUS (I have one) wrote this, but ... I cannot find any 'Device Manager'; I've been searching everywhere....

Asus: "This is VISTA OS problem.  VISTA does not allow system to enter Standby mode, if "Allow this device to bring the computer out of standby" for an USB or PS/2 wake supported device (such as mouse or keyboard) has been checked under "Device Manager", while the used USB or PS/2 port has not switched its power mode to +5VSB, which allows delivery of standby power to USB or PS/2 ports under soft OFF state.
As VISTA enables this option per default, and motherboards often set USB power modes to +5V at the same time, this two settings may result in conflict, hence causes this trouble.

To fix this, simply uncheck "Allow this device to bring the computer out of standby" for your USB mouse and PS/2 keyboard under "Device Manager", if you do not desire to wake the system via your USB mouse and/or PS/2 keyboard.

If wake from USB mouse and/or PS/2 keyboard option is required for your application, simply turn off your PC, set the particular USB port used to connect your USB mouse, and/or your PS/2 port(depending on if you wish to allow wake from PS/2 device) to +5VSB as per the instructions in your user manual, then turn it on again, and disable "Allow this device to bring the computer out of standby" for devices you do not wish to use to wake your system from, and your system will be able to enter and wake from standby mode in your desired manner".

Well, does anybody know where I can find and I can change something in that 'Device manager'?? And pls explain above mentioned a bit more clear, I don't understand 50% of what is written (I'm just an ordinary travel-agent.... ;).

Thanks in advance. Greetings, PitrPaulus.

Waauw! That's really a nice program! Thanks LANUX128, and also thank you that you've been thinking of me. Really great is such a 'cruel' world! :Thmbsup:
The program works fine and I don't get any UAC-questions if I really want to open my own installed programs.
Thanks again and bye-bye.
Pitr Paulus from the Netherlands.  :)

43
Hello lanux128, Thanks for the Vista suggestions page. I'm gonna have a look at it and I'm sure I can learn a lot. Great.
Maybe, when I've question about something there I'll contact you again.
Bye, Pitr Paulus.

44
Good day! That has everything to do with .. the Administrator -rights. Normally in XP is seems that everybody has those rights, but thats not in Windows Vista.
For some (older) programs you have to right click on the program and check if all users have Access to the program.
I looked there and saw that there were no rights -than one can only VIEW the program and not add or change something.
Now everything is OK, with the rights.
This will also work with (many) other (bit older) programs.
Greetings, Pitr Paulus (himself ;)

The problem has been solved./PitrPaulus.

Good Day! I bought a new laptop with Windows Vista. In the old computer with Windows XP, in my Print shop 20 (Broderbund software)program I  made more than hundred projects. Problem: when I move them to the new computer I can not review the projects in the Print Shop program. ( I move them from here-to-there with the 'Windows-Verkenner' I don't know the word in english -sorry).
I know were the 'projects' are in the old computer, I mean the map. Earlier I used cut-'n-paste to move them out en in, when necessary.
When I cut them in the old computer (Windows XP) and drop them in the new one (Vista) the program shows me not a single project,even after re-starting the computer and so on.
I seems to me that the Printshop 'doesn't recognise' or somethin like that, those projects.
And I'm sure that I put them in the right map in Vista. (if I make new projects, I can see where they were created and dropped in Vista).
ONLY ONE time I succeeded in viewing y projects on the new computer > I cut-'n-paste the whole map 'projects' in stead of all separate things.
BUT when I re-started.... everyting was gone. :(
I hope that somebody has an idea how to handle.
(I've been working on the projects for a few years...)
Greetings, Pitr Paulus.

Hello,
It was a brand new laptop with a fresh and clean installation. The installation was succesfull bu I encounter more problems at the moment so I think I'm  gonna make a new start with the computer and clean it up and start all over again.
Maybe this helps.
Greetings, PitrPaulus.

Good Day,
I installed Windows Vista on my brand new laptop but everytime when I start up I see an 'Introduction screen'.
There is a checkbox in the left corner but checking it or not: this bloody screen comes up after every new start up, day after day .... Grrrrr.
I've been reading a lot of websites about Vista but cannot find a solution.
Who can help?
Thanks in advance, Pitr Paulus.
(see screenshot).

Hello f0dder,
You're right: I wrote down a  sentence in Dutch to a company (Tele2 phone-company) about never-giving-me-a-reaction to my questions.....
(Maybe I was too angry in that message....  >:() hihi.
Hope to hear from you if you think it's in my system  :-\ or a so called bug?
Thx, PitrPaulus.
