N.A.N.Y. 2021 / Re: N.A.N.Y. 2021 - Alternate Mug Design

Oh man, sorry to hear that.  :( Hope things work out.

It's still happening.  My daughter and her boyfriend might have it right now... both are really sick and quarantining.  My son might also have it from a different vector at work.  Thankfully, in both cases, they're covered by their jobs.  We're not through this by a long shot.

Ah Yeah. The virus happened in 2020 so I guess that's what threw me off.... LOL

Shouldn't that say 2020?

No... the New Year is 2021 :)

It is written in VisualDialog Script. http://dialogscript.com

I am wondering how I can recompile the source code. I like using this program but the videos folder is created in the root {\} of the drive. Where as the pictures, music, documents folders are created in side the Documents folder. It would take about 2 seconds to fix the bug, but I don't know how to recompile it with. Any help?

Post New Requests Here / Re: Request - file path collector program
« on: December 03, 2020, 09:46 AM »

Nice work. Like the icon, program name, always on top feature, and that the default write file is displayed. Works with a shortcut too.  :)

Very useful as it is. Some additional features you may want to consider would be:
  • visual feedback that the path was copied (e.g., filename, not full path is displayed briefly or just a indication that file/dir was copied)
  • drag and drop the write file in addition to browsing to it
  • button to open the write file in the default text editor
  • display the number of entries in the current write file
  • clear the current write file
  • ability to change the write file name in the Save File bar
  • resize window and save position

Thanks! I should be able to add those, but it'll a day or so. I just threw that first version together quickly this morning before work.  8)

Here ya go. Just run the tpc.exe. An always ontop window will show. Browse to the file you want to use to save the paths. If the file doesn't exist, it'll be created then just drag and drop files or folders onto the dialog.

Post New Requests Here / Re: IDEA: Battery indicator in Window Titles
« on: November 11, 2020, 02:08 PM »
Progress update: I have it mostly working. The issue I am facing is that I am using the window CLASS for identification. If the title text changes from a different outside source (i.e. path change on an explorer window) the text will revert back to the initial text. Here is a short gif showing what I mean - https://a.cl.ly/o0umnx1m

P.S.  I'm not fussy about how the title looks, but feel it should be shorter, something like...
original title [BATT:34%]

I'll try allow custom text, it may take me a little to get to it.

Here is a quick and dirty app I made called Title Battery.

No install, just run and it sits in the system tray. Click the icon for the menu to exit, No custom features, It uses the following command line to get the battery. Tested on Windows 10.

WMIC PATH Win32_Battery Get EstimatedChargeRemaining

This is what I do and it works a treat.

Methylated spirits/denatured alcohol should remove the offending material, but you'll want to clean it all off

N.A.N.Y. 2021 / One-Time Grid
« on: October 14, 2020, 12:37 PM »
I had initially made this as a Windows app, but have since made it into a website.

Description: Provides a grid for making secure passwords.

Thought behind it: It was late at night and I was watching Star Trek (the new movie with Chris Pine as Kirk) and I dozed off. Had a dream that I had shuffled off this mortal coil and my wife needed to get into one of my accounts. She didn't have access to my password manager account. So, I was thinking of a way that I can not only have them as hard copy (stored in a notebook in the safe) but also have them in my password manager. Every time you visit the page, the grids are different and no grid repeats... at least it shouldn't.

How I use it: Every time I need a new password I grab a sheet (I printed some out front and back of a page and each has 6 grids on it) and circle the group of character that I want to use as the password, like a word search puzzle, (making sure to follow that site's guidelines for passwords) and then indicate the start and end. It may sound like a pain, but it's not (at least I don't think so). I write the description/website at the top along with the username. I have also included a random string and a pin that can be use as a suffix/prefix to the password.

Website: https://theblindhouse.com/otg

Now, I am not a web developer... like at all. I just googled my way to using PHP enough to make this page. With that said, there is more I would like to do and if anyone is willing to lend some Knowledge, I would appreciate it!

To Do: (The bit I need help on)
- Make it so the page can be printed out on 1 sheet of paper w/o needing to mess with the printer dialog. I.E. Make it super easy to print for the end user.
[UPDATE: Printing seems to work fine on Chrome, I can print the full page. No so much in Safari]
- Make it mobile friendly. I tried to use CSS and add @media queries but without any luck.
- Style the table MUCH BETTER than it currently is.
- A way to be able to "circle" the letters in the grid (again like a word search) and have it print that way. This is no where near the level I can reach and is probably not going to happen, but I can wish. This was way easier than I thought it would be. I don't have them circle, but I change the cell background on click.
- Different color for numbers and symbols in grid

Thoughts and comments welcome!!

I use http://pCloud.com it allows mirroring/folder syncing. It works great.

Odd. Sorry about that. Here is a video on how it works.

My app Fast Protect may work for you. I don't really have an active page for it but here is an old one. The links are all dead, sorry but if you are interested let me know and I'll give you a DL link.

That sucks. Sorry this happened mouser!  :(

What about renaming the text file to a .CSV file and opening it in Excel or Sheets? You can then select and delete the rows you want.

If you want to send an email as an sms, most cell carriers allow it already. Take a look at this.
