I've also noticed strange behaviour regarding EXIF shooting/modified times in my pics, but I believe it's a Windows problem (or feature?).

I may be completely wrong, but it appears that, let's say, I take a pic in December at 12:00:00 and store in my computer, the EXIF and Windows modified dates will be the same; however, once DST starts in March, it seems Windows changes the dates of all files, so the pic I took in December will still retain its EXIF shooting time, but the modified date will now be 13:00:00. Once the hour changes again, it will revert to the original 12:00:00.

On my 4GB system (well, 3.25GB) I've devoted 1.5 GB to disk cache.  End result is a ~2GB workstation with a really fast disk subsystem.

How exactly do you do that?  I'd like to have some ability to tune this on my system.

So would I. How does one devote a specific amount of RAM to filesystem cache?

For your peace of mind, MemTest86+ running a whole night could be a good idea.
Thanks.
I did what you suggested, and it reported no errors after 14 passes lasting more than 8 and a half hours. I had memory remap disabled, so I think it only tested 3008 MB, I'll enable it now and let it test the full 4 GB for another few hours.

I believe I have them in dual channe, in CPU-Z's Memory tab, Channels # indicates "Dual", and the reported latencies are equal to the slowest pair (5-5-5-18, whereas the new pair is rated 4-5-5-12).
I had the first pair in dual channel (on same coloured slots) prior to the purchase, so I added the new pair in the empty slots.
