Hi, i just transfer from xplorer2 to DOpus 9.0...wow that's certainly an upgrade worth my time...

Although the strength of DOpus is in its customisation, i am able to work very comfortablely with the default settings...

Just wondering if i mess up the settings or not, is it common for DOpus to exit after a certain time of inactivity?

As it exit by itself twice this morning....

Hi,

I am devising a safety quiz for my Dept and was wondering which software would you recommeded for quiz creator.

I would like the user to finish the quiz and the results for the quiz be send to me....

It is a light event, so that i can give some small prize to the top scorers...

I have tried the html ones on the web, but they seem to lack the send results to me function...Thanks.

These are the 2 that i tried:

I have just download v1.0 of launchy to try out to see how it fare with the current alpha version of FARR...

I have to say it looks really nice and so much faster than FARR...maybe due to its index...

I have used FARR for more than a year after coming over from AppRocket, it has served all my needs....but i really feel that it is really too slow for me (alway missing my first 2 key press)

Also, after using launchy today, i found out that my needs are really simple. I just need to launch programs. And Launchy will be faster for this purpose. Will try out more of its functions to make a more detailed comparism.

Living Room / Re: backup question - how much of a risk is fire?
« on: February 01, 2007, 12:05 AM »
Thanks, brotherS for editing my title...its much better

Hmm, like app103 said i would feel really really depress if all my children pics are gone...

that said, i still feel its a overkill to buy a fireproof safe.

If your stuff is not too confidential, an online solution would be the best...

Living Room / backup question - how much of a risk is fire?
« on: January 30, 2007, 09:55 PM »
This is just a general observation on my part... :)

I am researching for backup options and free software alternatives from True Image and Norton Ghost.
I find out from comments from different forums and articles that people normally save a copy of their software at friends house or in a fireproof safe.

Is fire a common problem at your country?

Where I live, fire concerns is not brought too much to my attention, so i am not worried about it.

Ha, maybe i am too naive... ;)

Hi,

Just tried V2, and i loved it especially with the faster search speed and directory search.... :-*

Excellent work, mouser...

Two things to comment:

1. Is it possible to put a date modified column at the search display...easier for me to view my recent document...

2. was playing around with the skinning part of FARR, and was spooked for a moment to find clearlooks-Human.skn...fun stuff. Did not choose it as i dont want human skin on my FARR... :P

thanks lanux, thats fast.... :-*

Hmm mouser, i thought you are going to release the public version at this newsletter....

Since you are not ready for the public release, can i have the current alpha version please?

Thanks :)

« on: November 29, 2006, 10:11 PM »
Hi,

Actually this is a coding snack to myself. I had only used AHK for adding hotkeys to launch some program and text replacement. Now i would like to explore more of AHK to write a small app myself.

As have not done any programming before, i would like to ask for some help on how to start...now reading the help documentation for AHK...

So for the actual idea:

I would like to write something that will minimise all windows (including open/save dialogs) except the active current window. That means if i activate another window, all other windows will minimise automatically.

Essentially, there will always be only one window on my workspace.

Hi,

i am still facing this problem, that when farr open a program without verified digital signature, this dialog will come up. And i cant click OK to execute the program whereas from normal explorer this program can be open.

Hi, just a update on what i am doing now on my desktop....

First i add a alias on FARR to get to the desktop folder fast...then i go to desktop properties to hide all icons....

Now i have a very "empty" desktop which will "teleport" all the things that i drop on the desktop to the desktop folder....and use FARR to quickly access it if i want to...(i know, i am deluding myself  :P)

i have been using this configuration for a week now and find that its suits my working style....

Although i will try the software tchikien wrote and see how i like it...
