Just how good IS MyLifeOrganized? Any good reviews out there?

Right now I'm using RSS only for podcasts for my iPod. (Before anyone freaks - The iPod isn't that bad... it's iTunes that could use some help.)I swear by FeedDemon. It isn't free, but I'll be damned if it isn't the best feed reader in existence. A good free one is GreatNews Newsreader, though I do not like it nearly as much as I like FeedDemon. If you'd like to stay free, however, GreatNews is a very good option. If you use Thunderbird for email, it can handle newsfeeds as well. I used it for quite a while that way and loved it, but of course it would not survive a comparison to any serious, real feedreader. Or, use Firefox, as bliss said above.
I'm also using custom XML feeds for GDT, my MP3 player software for musicians. XML is just so amazing to work with. *.gdt song configuration files are all just XML.
I've seen a few people post about RSS readers, but can anyone recommend anything that's top notch? I really don't like to fiddle too much with software and prefer that things just work easily. Most often I don't even need that much power from a lot of software. So anything decent that will work and let me configure things nicely would be perfect.

I use Feed Demon for my feeds and use it daily, don't know how I managed before I got it.It's the best. By far. I tried out so many different readers and in the end simply came back to FeedDemon.-Dennis the Menace (May 04, 2006, 01:02 PM)
I use Rojo.com for my RSS feeds and I will often get duplicate entries. Sometimes where there was a spelling correction/change in the title.I appreciate you sharing that information. Rojo.com is extremely impressive, I must admit. The "today" page was loaded with super interesting stuff when I went there just now. Sweet link! Thanks. And it's good--or, well, bad, if you think about it--to know that this is an issue related directly the architecture of feeds rather than my particular feedreader. Thanks for confirming that suspicion as well. Guess there really IS nothing we can do. The only solution is for the RSS/Atom standards to be updated in such a way that each feed entry can unmistakably and uniquely uniquely be identified.
But sometimes I'd get several of the same entries from one source, usually Joystiq, like they don't post enough already. It's terrible to have 100 new articles but each one from Joystiq has seven duplicates.

but you mentioned Calculator Plus but actually posted the link to Power Calculator of PowerToys...
there are two calculator apps put out by Microsoft and both of it are mentioned here and here.

I meant to say that new isn't always better, but with technology it often is. For example, given the way cars are built, I'd take a 2006 Volvo over '67 Ford Mustang any day. I didn't mean to diss it. It's very popular AND good. Its interface always made sense to me and I will even go as far as to say that I disagree with all your listed criticisms of it...TuneUp Utilities 2006 as well. Most of you must have heard of it before. While it's great for what it does, it's pretty obvious its target user audience are clueless computer users who find themselves right at home with the pretty colors and nice icons and the easy interface. But it works, and that's what I care about. TuneUp's Registry cleaner is also one of the safest around. TuneUp also lets you control Explorer in ways few other tweaking tool allow. The best asset of TuneUp Utilities is that it's easy to find things. Unlike X-Setup Pro, which is mainly a telephone book-list of tweaks, I can navigate to something quickly. I won't say Tuneup is the best. Never. Check out XP Smoker Pro. I think you might like its raw power.-zridling (April 17, 2006, 06:11 PM)

.. but in Firefox it works BEAUTIFULLY. I have to see if it will work in Opera if I ignore the compatibility warning... somehow I don't want to push my luck though. It's good to know the application is fully and officially compatible with Firefox and IE. Guess I'll be using Firefox more often now.. at least until there is official Opera support 
I didn't think about it, but my reply is this: my OS was updated three days agoIt may just be me.. but I simply refuse to use software that is based on code that is by now over five years old

i'm glad to see that things picked up while i was not around.Nono.. I didn't mean that. I know the paste command, of course, and never use the mouse. I meant that the dialog that shows up does not accepts commands. It wants a file path for the file you want to create the shortcut for. I did try pasting the command and clicking next and it just told me "Can't find file "Run"" or something like that, when "Run" was the first word of the command...amazingly, it was solved in just 4hrs 45mins...
i think now is a good time to move this topic to "Finished Programs" on Coding Snacks....but when I right-click the desktop and choose NEW SHORTCUT the window that appears asks me for the file's location to which I want to create a shortcut. microsoft, in their infinite wisdom, have disabled the right-click menu in the "New Shortcut" dialog but you can press Control-V to paste the command. since you have already have a working script, this is just some additional info for the future...-lanux128 (April 12, 2006, 08:39 PM)
