LastPass asked why I wasn't renewing my Premium Sub I use the app on my Tablet) and I replied:

I will be renewing later, but I am a Disability Pensioner and have had a lot of unexpected expenses recently! Also the exchange Rate was so high I had to wait for it to come down for other software.

I will be renewing later this year.

They replied:

Hello Lynette,

Thank you for reaching out. Please enjoy your extended Premium subscription, which is now due to expire 2014-09-25.

Best,

Can't get better service than that!  :D

A couple of things I like to check:

  • Never use WEP -- go for WPA2
  • Change the default admin password

Done!

And then there's the always useful WPS vulnerability: WPS Router Flaw Information

@CleverCat: Make sure you disable WPS in your router once you have set up any wireless devices that require it.

My friend set it up and WPS not enabled.

First although I had Wireless (for my Tablets)  my Router is 'fixed' to Adsl line. It was an old Telkom Router and not very secure! Yes password was changed. No remote admin afaik..

Only one connection is allowed on my phone line and my IT friend says that they watch for an unused but on router during night - new one is now switched off at night....

It's a Trendnet 300mbps - been wanting for a while but other expenses kept popping up!

All good now.

I'm still alive!

Had no International access for a week - my Router was hacked and before I realized (was off PC for 2 days - they had used up my monthly quota 5GB and most of my 500mb out of package at 20c per Mb

Then they had the cheek to start using my 10GB of local only free data!

Now have more updated secure Router - more expense R500 -

Only good news is: A friend heard my plight and immediately whipped out R100 - I have good friends bless them. and secondly I can now Access the net from my 2 Tablets without having PC on!

What a week!!!

If you love History try Edward Rutherfurd's books!

I've read New York, London and am now reading The New Forest.

Friends who do not reply or just ignore my 'read receipt' for email!

Friends who have Voice Mail or answering machines and NEVER check for messages... Grrrrr I've paid for the call so respect that!

Curt I have the Free Account but have 7GB due to referrals, invites etc.

My upload speed varies from around 40 - 80 kbps and I only backup important files!

I'm liaising with Spider Oak to try and sort the purging issue. 4wd's command worked, but when I open the GUI the versions are still there!

Just doing: C:\"Program Files"\SpiderOak\SpiderOak.exe --destroy-shelved-x

I find this works when changing things in Spider Oak then I do 'repair' command - running now then I'll run Spider Oak - hold thumbs... ;D

No di dice - all versions still there! Drat and double drat.... :(

I copied this of Spider Oak Website as a shortcut to purge versions:

c:\\"Program Files (x86)"\\SpiderOak\\SpiderOak.exe --purge-historical-versions d60

The command box says "cannot find path specified"

Their response:
It appears that you added some extra backslashes. Please try entering the command exactly as you see it here:

c:\"Program Files (x86)"\SpiderOak\SpiderOak.exe --purge-historical-versions d60

Please let me know if you have any additional questions or concerns.

Neither command works?

Any ideas?  :tellme:
