Have downloaded and just to clarify.....

Am I correct that this completely replaces system restore?

System Restore has never worked for me! Even if I have a restore point it says - nothing to restore?

Does erunt replace it completely so you can roll back? I have regseeker which backs up....

also for Firefox, there are extensions such as Mouse Gestures or All-in-One Gestures..

All-in-One Gestures is great - I have a disability and it has been invaluable!

Curt - just goes to show how smart you have to be to have a good command of the English Language!

I am teaching my neighbour's 9 year old (Afrikaans) Son, as his Father wants him to speak 'real' English and not the local variety!

I am British BTW...

... my XP sounds have gone South!

Start by checking the obvious: Control Panel > Sounds & Sound Units ...
 :tellme:

It's only the Keyboard Sticky Key Sounds that don't work - all other XP sound is ok. Someone gave me an AHK file but the sticky key sounds still don't work with that! This happened before I got my cordless Key Board/Mouse. :tellme:

How does that work? - I'm not very 'au fait' with the command window unless I have step by step instructions!  :-[

« on: April 22, 2007, 09:08 AM »
I have yet to find a programme that will synchronize Folders by name and not the files in them.

This would be useful when backing up to a USB drive apps which contain lots of Folders for skins -  like Window Blinds/Rainlender etc....the files inside are not important. I use Free Commander and it's great but cannot compare/synch a whole folder in side by side panes. :(

Yikes - I thought my sys tray was crowded - but most of you beat me...... ;D

My most valuable as a PC freak with a disability (Rheumatoid Arthritis) is my Sticky Keys! but.....

I still can't configure AHK to make sound when they are used as my XP sounds have gone South! :tellme:

and he happens to be one of those nice, generous, and genuine people on the internet that can sometimes seem increasingly rare).

I can attest to that....I had no way of paying for the Premium sub as I don't have a credit card because I am on a Disability Pension, and Debit Cards in South Africa are useless on the net and.....

He kindly gave me a sub.! His letter has been of great value as it points to loads of freebies...

I'm afraid the key sounds.exe didn't work on my pc. Am downloading ahk to try...

1141
If I'm doing a 'mega' download (I'm on dialup), I find Opera best - constant speed and good resume capabilities!

But I find FF's extensions invaluable...

1142
I'm into customizing big time - I use WindowBlinds - will be checking your link!

1143

If you use IE...YOU'RE ALREADY 'ON THE DARK SIDE'..... ;D

FF rocks and has great extensions - especially Scrapbook!

« on: July 23, 2006, 06:32 AM »
As a person with a disability who uses the sticky keys provided with windows AND THE SOUNDS DON'T WORK ANYMORE - I would love an app to give a sound when Shift, Ctrl or Alt is pressed. Preferably a customizable sound! (There are apps with keyboard sounds, but they make sounds with every keypress and are not customizable)!

Second, is it possible to have a shortcut key to make hidden files visible quickly, without having to open a folder, click folder options etc. etc....

Thanks CleverCat

Living Room / Re: Anyone actually use rewriteable media?
« on: April 22, 2006, 08:34 AM »
Hi - just joined today...

I use TDK DVD+RW with very few probs, and here in South Africa they can be bought for the equivalent of +- 60 US cents!  (Occassional hitch using Send To with InCD). I only use CD-RW to copy discs or backup a disc and backup my music. I prefer RW as you can wipe and re-use. I NEVER just burn to CD-R - Burn to Rewrite disc and then check if all ok and then burn to CD-R! For my major Image Backups and storing stuff I don't want to lose, I have found an External Enclosure to be invaluable and mine has a 60GB Drive - plenty for my Images etc.
