Thanks PhilB66, this works!

Thanks for the offered solutions but I think I didn't explain myself clearly. What I wanted was to be able to click the pdf, and it asks to save the pdf in a dialog, not open in acrobat. The solutions offered were to disable browser integration, and open in acrobat instead, which is done. Previously it was done by setting the pdf extension to "Confirm open after download" with the browser integration disabled, but that does not work anymore

General Software Discussion / Disabling Acrobat 8 IE integration
« on: March 24, 2008, 10:27 PM »
Hi

Does anyone knows of a way to disable acrobat IE intergration, so when I click on a pdf file, it will ask to save instead of opening automatically? In previous version, there is a nppdf32.dll file to delete, but for version 8, it does not work anymore.

Darn, I hate Acrobat, but the other viewers not ready to replace it.

This has to be one of the worse licensing I ever saw. I bought this software, the silver registration, and now I cannot transfer it to the new computer I bought cos my old machine is retired.

With silver registration you will get:
- Unlimited email support during the first month after the purchase
- No transfer of the program to new computers; - free upgrades are possible but not guaranteed;
no support or help with registration will be provided beyond 1 month after the purchase.

Price: 9.95 $US

With gold registration you will get:
- Unlimited email support during the first 3 years after the purchase;
- 3 year unlimited transfer of the program to new computers (if you buy a new computer you can move 5 Clicks from the old one); - 3 year free upgrades to the newest versions of 5 Clicks.

Price: 19.95 $US

Here I found one alternative freeware which does almost the same, except requiring one extra click. Darn, I will never buy from such company with absurb license.
