I hate it when a favorite program is shelved.  I actually bought Stiletto, the precursor to PowerPro.  I have relied upon this little program for a long time.  I certainly don't fault Bruce for giving up on it.  He spends way too much time for a nonprofit venture.

Unfortunately, even if it works now, I hate to continue to rely upon it because eventually it will have an issue with the OS or another program.  Sad day... :(

You can also do what you want with PowerPro http://powerpro.webeddie.com/.

You will need to create a PowerPro script that contains:

Local name = ?/"* - Opera"/
Local name2 = ?/"Opera"/
Local exec = "c:/Your Path/Opera/Opera.exe"

;; watch out for line wrap of the following condition
*if (eval("activewindow"++name)) or (eval("activewindow"++ name2))do
do("*window traymin ","active")
*elseif ( eval( "anywindow " ++ name ) ) do
do("*window show ",name)
*else
do(exec,"")
*endif

Then create a hotkey to Opera from PowerPro and call this script.

Hopefully this will be useful to someone.

But you must be the right guy to tell how to make the UI toolbar smaller?  :tellme:

I do like my toolbars to be as small as possible, but I've not been able to understand how this can be done in Opera. But maybe this question should be asked somewhere else.

The UI can be scaled to a certain degree. Press Shift-F12 and the icons can be scaled to a percentage of the standard UI.  I have mine set at 80%.

You can also select minimalist UI's at the Opera site: http://my.opera.com/community/customize/skins/minimalist/
I am using Tango_Cl which looks nice to me.

I have also removed the menu from view to save space.  It is in a single drop down button.

Finally, make sure that the Tab bar is shown "only when needed" and the progress bar replaces the address bar. (Both in the Customize option when you right click the tool bar)  I also put the tab bar on the bottom so that the interface is consistent with one tab or multiple tabs - it does not make the page jump when I open a second tab.

Of course there is always F11, which maximizes the window and hides all of the UI stuff.   :D

Great thread.  Here are my fav's:

Total Commander
Xplorer2 (second primarily because of the lack of built-in achive handling)
PowerPro (does everything!)
Opera (so fast and powerful, I love it)
TrueLaunchBar
ClipMate (sometimes I switch to a light cliboard capture program like ClipX (http://bluemars.org/clipx/)
PowerMarks (sure wish they would keep updating this great program)
Find and Run Robot
Screenshot Captor
Xint - notepad replacement (http://www.xtort.net/xtort/xint.php)

Thanks for the lead on safarp.  It is a nice program.  I love Uninstall Tool 2, but I am not sure that it is work $20 at this point.  (I do still have 1.6.6 installed, but safarp appears to be quicker)
