Circle Dock / Re: circledock middle button interferes with chrome
« on: September 18, 2013, 12:48 PM »
Its been some time but I think you can change the button used in the settings menu to better fit your purposes. Sarge does pop in from time to time so he'll most likely have a better answer than me... Also yeah Wraith I don't think CD (at least by the old crew) is still being developed :(

Circle Dock / Re: Circle Dock preventing Sleep Mode
« on: June 23, 2013, 11:37 AM »
I think you need 10 posts on donation coder before you can have full access to changing your avatar and such. Also You did say that without circle dock you're able to go into sleep mode? That is very odd that it would prevent sleep and is definitely not something I heard about the program before. I wonder if hiding the dock would do the trick... if so you could always put an icon that hides the dock on it as a temporary fix? as far as a permanent fix I'm not sure I'd have to go and mess with the program.

come on Markham and App, calm down... this whole situation will not be resolved through mudslinging and insults. let us come to a compromise... anger is understandable on both sides but I know all to well what damage it can do to a situation... let us just walk away from this for a little while and approach it with a fresh angle later

One lesson I've (hopefully) learned: when in an upset state, don't make big decisions, and don't post stuff publicly. Take a few big steps bag and breathe deeply.

well said  :)

I feel greatly responsible for this entire situation, and I make my apologies to not only Markham, but all of the DC Community  :-[

dont blame yourself for the situation... it is not your fault at all.
this seems to me like some misunderstanding, perhaps there is a way to salvage the situation...  :tellme:

I would also like to place a call for coders, with a full explanation of what a coder/programmer would be getting into. Bottom line everything clearly so that any future programmers will know what they are getting into and what is expected.

im not a big programmer but i might be able to contribute

center Dock

Move Dock

Abstraction

Object Typhoon - like the most :D

here's a prototype logo for Object Typhoon

Though I'd never suggest anyone use object dock... but maybe follow their idea... and what you were going to do...
offer a free version and a paid for version (premium)

offer as many docks as you wish in free, dock folders in premium...
kiosk mode sounds more like a free thing to me....

I may have been against this idea at first but I have no other ideas on how to market it... offering a free version gives people a "preview" of the program before you buy rather than just say fork over $20 or you can just look at screenshots  ::)

maybe:

circumference (not a circle name but it implies it :-[)

circumference Dock ?

Round Dock

Sarge, please keep my donation....
CD is a great program and has taught me alot since my first post...
you and Markham were more than willing to listen and help me with the glitches I encountered....
so when it comes down to it you deserve the donation  :-*

Circle Dock / Re: Change of Licensing from Version 2 (Cancelled)
« on: August 05, 2010, 09:29 AM »
while it does sadden me that this program will leave open source, I must say who am I to say that you don't deserve some sort of profit from this program.
after all these costs do need covering  :-[

so all I can say is I now stand by your decision....

thanks to all that have developed and improved CD,
Archon of Fate

Well it appears i've been had  ;D
I Feel a bit dumb about my comments earlier...  Alot of good points were made today from everyone, and when it comes down to it I'd rather pay for CD than have it disappear so all I can say is that if 2.0 comes out I think i'll end up buying it  :-*

thanks to all and regards,

« on: August 04, 2010, 11:27 AM »
I saw a few comments about people having the ability to modify CD (markham and sarge's) and upload it and charge for it themselves... apparently GPL2 protects against that... further more I did say I'm not an expert on this at all so my comments will not be as accurate as everyone else's.

just one of those loose ends I though I could help adress.

Circle Dock / Re: Change of Licensing from Version 2 (Cancelled)
« on: August 04, 2010, 09:28 AM »
read the site and it outlines them all quite clearly.... well if CD uses the GPLv2 license you should be pretty safe from people that would modify it and re-release it. there's the quote:

"GPLv2

The major change in v2 is the Liberty or Death Clause in Section 7. This states that if your software has some restriction where it violates GPL-covered property, then it cannot be distributed. For example, if a legal ruling states that they can only distribute the software in binary form, they cannot distribute it at all. The Linux kernel is covered by this license currently, and the license prevents others from just taking the source, modifying it and not contributing back to the community that founded it."

there seems to be no easy solution but then again I am new at this... as for my comment earlier I meant no offence

I have to agree with Rigel on this one it just seems wrong to limit copies of CD per account. this is also based on Erik's code so I'm not sure if you can charge for it anyway...  :tellme:

Circle Dock / Re: Unable to unlock Kiosk mode
« on: July 28, 2010, 06:31 PM »
in the kiosk mode tab does it show the option to disable kiosk mode? or is it still grayed out along with the other tabs... I don't use kiosk mode so my tips may be a little off... if it is I'd wait for sgtevmckay or markham to reply as they are the programmers of CD currently

Circle Dock / Re: Unable to unlock Kiosk mode
« on: July 28, 2010, 05:17 PM »
kiosk mode basically "locks" the dock from being changed, to edit settings, add items, etc... you must disable kiosk mode :D

« on: July 14, 2010, 08:07 AM »
added options in for the different features for dexpot as well as upon starting the program it creates or shows the options then upon close it hides them?  :tellme: it basically allows for the complete control of dexpot through CD
also fixed problem of CD minimizing while switching desktops :D
adds the showing of certain programs to show on certain desktops?

Circle Dock / Re: Support for "Dexpot" Virtual Desktop Manager

Removed the current desktop link to only show those desktops you can switch to :P
as well as change the center button to reflect what desktop you are on
