Shall we expect a new version of Trout in the foreseeable future?

N.A.N.Y. 2016 / Re: NANY 2016 Pledge/Alpha: Mouser's Media Browser
« on: November 21, 2018, 06:11 PM »
@mouser
I wonder whether libpng would be of any help for animated PNG (APNG) support.

28
@mouser

I hope that this is the right thread for Mouser's Media Browser. I did a brief test of version 1.06.01 and I would like to suggest some enhancements:

  • Option to open last used folder;
  • Option to save folders as favourites;
  • Support for animated GIF and PNG (APNG) images;
  • A shortcut key to toggle 'Keep on top of other windows' on/off (perhaps 'Ctrl+T);

I have some more ideas but I suppose that they would require much work. For me an option to save folders as favourites will be very handy since it will spare me navigation to deeply buried folders.

I use UrlHistory with this setting:

comment=0

yet I am getting prompt "Please enter comment for", screen:

I would like an option for saving URLs silently, without any prompts.

Announce Your Software/Service/Product / Re: BBCeditor 1.1.35
« on: May 26, 2018, 11:24 PM »
@fenixproductions

I came upon BBCeditor this week, I liked it a lot- open-source, portable, tiny, nice and clean interface, customizable, so I immediately started using it. I really hope it is not abandoned for good. Because BBCeditor really impressed me I decided to review it at The Portable Freeware forum.

If you decide to work on BBCeditor in the future I would like to share several ideas for possible enhancements:

  • List toolbar button renamed to Bullet list;
  • New toolbar button- Numbered list;
  • New toolbar button- Insert date;
  • New toolbar button- Insert time;
  • New toolbar button- Insert date/time;
  • New command - Edit - Selection - sub-menus - UPPERCASE, lowercase, Sentence case, Title Case, iNVERT cASE;
  • Undo and Redo available from context menu;
  • Option to select text without trailing space;
  • Bookmarks- option to add BBC files as bookmarks;
  • Enhanced tray- right-click on tray icon- Open and Exit commands;

Website is gone, can anyone provide a download link?

@IainB

Just use the normal direct download links:

Installer

I suppose that mouser simply forgot to update the version information on Screenshot Captor page, which still shows version 4.27.3.

34
Screenshot Captor at version 4.27.4, changes unknown.

Update Check - Screen:

35
@mouser

Thank you very much- everything seems right with MiniCap version 1.38.

By the way- is there a way to get notifications when any of your programs gets an update? It is a bit tiresome to manually check for updates all your programs.

Regards

36
@mouser

Hello there,

MiniCap page says that the latest version of MiniCap is 1.35, MiniCap forum thread says it is version 1.36, while program windows shows version 1.34:

Which is the latest actual version of MiniCap?

I highly appreciate your work but I think that you are a bitter careless with versioning. You might consider embedding the actual version number in the executable files.

Happy holidays.

Finished Programs / Re: Another small clipboard monitor
« on: December 02, 2017, 09:01 PM »
@flamerz
If Clipboard Monitor is not abandoned you may add a new button to the toolbar- 'Tray', which sends it to tray. You may also add a shorcut key for minimizing the program to tray.
Regards.

@Tuxman
You have chosen the best license, thanks.

N.A.N.Y. 2018 / Re: NANY 2018 Release: Gowser, a Gopher browser
« on: December 02, 2017, 08:22 PM »
@Tuxman

Thanks, but I think there is a lot to be desired:

  • Toolbar- Back, Forward, Refresh, etc;
  • Tabs;
  • Bookmarks;
  • History;
  • Icon (embedded in the executable and title bar);

but I am afraid that implementing these features would severely exceed the initial purpose for this program.

It seems that Gowser uses Internet Explorer.

For Gopher I use OverbiteFF (available at Mozilla add-ons)- it works with Firefox (prior to version 57) and SeaMonkey.

Screenshot Captor / Re: Screenshot Captor
« on: March 24, 2017, 06:07 PM »
@mouser
The colour picker ScreenshotCaptor uses- Color Cop version 5.4.5 is not portable and thus it ruins Screenshot Captor portability. Why don't you use a truly portable colour picker? There are many.

41
@mouser
First- happy new year and best wishes!
The latest version shows wrong version number- 2.33.0.
Regards

42
I got it, thanks. I posted here because of the version number discrepancy at download page and inside program's About menu (I supposed it might be an unintentional omission).

43
@mouser
Many thanks for the detailed information you provided. But what means unofficial update- version 2.33.0 is a Beta or a stable release?

44
@mouser
Hello,
The download page says its version 2.32.0 while it is actually 2.33.0. I couldn't find a change log for this version.
Regards

45
Thank you very much- everything is fine now, I downloaded both the installer and the portable version and both are the latest ones.

46
Hi mouser,

It seems that the download links for Screenshot Captor haven't been updated- in stead of version 4.9.6 i still get version 4.9.5.

Regards

47
Thank you Mouser for your immediate response and fix! I downloaded and installed the fixed version and everything is fine now- no prompts for updates.

All the best!

48
Hello Mouser,

Although I installed the latest version of Screenshot Captor (4.8.2) over the previous one (4.8.0) and although Screenshot Captor runs fine, on start-up it prompts for update- although it is the latest version:

http://i60.tinypic.com/1zzw3l.png - Screenshot Captor - Update Prompt
http://i59.tinypic.com/ve3t4m.png - Screenshot Captor - Version

Why can't Screenshot Captor detect that the latest version is installed?

Regards and thanks for the new release!

Hello Mouser,

Since you encourage users to provide links for similar to Clipboard Help+Spell programs I will mention a very simple application I came across today - Clipboard History:

Thanks for your immediate response and excuse me for my typing error. I was using Clipboard Help+Spell version 1.44.01 and now I am very happy to find that in this new release I can select all saved clipboard entries and delete them, many thanks for implementing this great feature!
