Hi Curt, MilesAhead and Shades, thanks for all the information.

The original Documalis Free Reporter v.1.0.0.0 was different than now available on various website. You can see the size at website http://www.winsite.com/Utilities/File-Management/Documalis-Free-Reporter/ and the program image on site http://documalis-free-reporter.software.informer.com/1.0/ and also as below

The problem all the download pages point is some demo or different program. The original is missing from all links. Only option now I feel is to find the original exe from someone who may have downloaded and still have it in his/her hdd/cloud.

Anand

Thanks MilesAhead for the reply.

Living Room / Re: problem with pdf
« on: July 17, 2016, 06:46 AM »
I finally solved the problem, it was that I used Firefox, when switched to IE, there was no problem!
I have also found this typical type of solution in some of the "government" website. They simply do not work properly without IE. I think they are heavily done with activex and asp codes which are forbidden or crap as per new FF / Chrome.

I keep all three ready in my taskbar to make all websites happy.  ;)

Anand

Thanks Shades for the links.

I found similarity more or less satisfactory now.

Hello,

I have a collection of mp3 files. When I play them, I find that duplicate songs are there, but have different file name, size etc.
Googling gave me idea that I need some "audio fingerprinting" but I could not find any win exe which will scan file mp3 folders and give me a list of duplicate mp3 files.

I got lots of android or win programs which will "listen" and not scan for it. Also found Python / Perl codes for it.

Is there a win exe available as I require ?

Anand

Found this HamMultiPlayer http://hammultiplayer.org/
"If you want to : search, preview, watch, manage, sort, copy, move or delete media files, this software might interest you"

I was looking for something like this to check my holiday video collection, at a glance. The author Barnuble has done very good job and looks very promising.

Hope some of us will find it very useful.

It's Like a piece of  carbon paper stuck to my shoe>  Perfect!       I hate the pool-table green color but I bet that can be changed.  This is as close as I can imagine anything being to exactly what I described.

Happy that you found it useful.

You can change the background color by clicking on M (menu) and selecting Interface tab, see screen shot.

Hi questorfla,

I have faced the same situations and wanted the same things. Many a site and also some software (aka folder lock etc.) require password with capital, number and special characters which makes entering them complicated behind asterisks.

I have been locked out in two/three situation, although I can swear that I was correct still I was left swearing against the site.

I found one solution and created another one.

1. I use JC&MB Quicknote http://www.quicknote.de/quicknoteen.php and enable "Focusless input". After that when I type in the password box the letters are auto typed in the quicknote box, which I can see and confirm if it is correct or not.

2. I type the password in a new notepad window. Copy it and use Paste Text Like https://sites.google.com/site/pastetextlike/ to "Mimic Typing" on the password box, since these password box do not allow copy-paste. Then I close the notepad window without saving.

I now use the point 1 above when I am creating a new account and need to enter a new password. And the point 2 when I am entering the password in a website.

See if they can be of any help.

Anand

Living Room / Why material design was designed !!
« on: June 17, 2016, 11:52 AM »
In my humble knowledge, Google required a very bare minimum interface for its Android, as cheap mobiles have less power and battery. More the graphics more the strain on CPU and battery. Then MS copied it for its Win10, same reason for its WinPhone and Surface tablet. It is like having sheets of paper with text written on them. Some may have different color or a box drawn around them but most are just plain text.

But for God's shake, think of desktop users. We do not have problem with cpu and battery.  :tellme:

I really feel pissed off when I have to waste time just touching clicking at all places in finding the place which will act like a "Button"!!!

See the few screen shots attached.

In IOBit Uninstaller, CCleaner and MS Settings. We can clearly see that in trying to be material design friendly, they give us high time in playing the game of puzzle to find out which "text" clicked will do what ??

Setting taking so much screen space that it has to be scrolled to get further options, which could have fit in one screen itself. Then blue text is button (Identify) but the bix blue box with 1 is not. ( I have clicked it many times)
CCleaner tab page highlight is reverse, the grey one is not the active tab page.
IOBit needed me couple of time before I understood how to click to uninstall a program. I am not taking about the big circle below, but the program list lines.
Second image of IOBit showing another window over the first one, but looks like it is one window and can not be moved.

In my Android phone, many are becoming material design and I understand their problem and I have to manage there but I do not want to play game on my desktop. Please give me back my buttons, bevel, shadows.

Anand

In our last email, you mentioned about your father's health. I can understand your loss.

ai4fu,

WOW  :D and Thank you   from DC.

A programmer always feels happy to read such appreciation. It is not always the money but always the good wishes, which make us programmers work hard to put smiles on unknown faces.

I found this,
How do I DISABLE 'Restore previous session'?? https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/975670

See if it helps.

Hi JavaJones,

if you are adventurous I will suggest the following,
1. Use mouse hover action
2. Bigger buttons or images in place of buttons
3. Change color / image on click or mouse hover
4. Show window in slide and close in fade ways
5. Play some small ding dong
6. All messages, even error ones should be funny, like you are saying to your pals.
etc.

I used to make the above even in DOS, yes. Box graphics to open and slide away, etc.

But as Mouser said, keep an option 'Disable Animation/CPU hog etc.', as user will very soon want a simple cleaner interface to get the job done fast.

Note : Games do not count here. They MUST be very bold in graphics and music.

Anand

T-Clock / Re: T-Clock 2010 (download)
« on: February 26, 2016, 10:12 AM »
T-Clock is working OK.

I have given two line string for date and time with larger font. This way the taskbar height remain default and I get to see full date and time at a glance.

The top white line in the image is of DC forum which got captured.

Below images are better to explain.

T-Clock / Re: T-Clock 2010 (download)
« on: February 25, 2016, 12:10 PM »
Well, T-Clock is one of the first I install in every machine I work. From WinXp to Win10 now.

In WinXp I used to keep double size taskbar icons which gave amble height to have bigger font for T_Clock, better for my eyes. Also I wanted to see the day of the week at a glance, which it helps to achieve

Win10 the taskbar icons are by default double size so same configuration fits here too.

Thanks Stephen66515, did it.

General Software Discussion / struggling in Fb and Twit pool
« on: February 08, 2016, 10:54 AM »
Well I jumped in Fb and Twit pool at last.

I wanted to "follow" DC from both but alas I was all wet but could not reach my destination.

I looks so bad that even small kids are splashing water everywhere, I am struggling to find my way. I am getting old.

Please throw the life line and tell me how to swim to follow DC, as googling did not help.

Living Room / Now that AI has mastered 'Go,' are all our jobs next?

Ha ! I do not think so.

AI can never be able to apologize to our wifes like we do, for no fault of ours.
AI can never sit in meaningless meeting with boss for hours and still smile.
AI can never...

AI is no match to our intelligence.

Living Room / Re: Why GOD has not updated the world ?
« on: February 05, 2016, 01:41 AM »
If HE decides to reformat, then obviously Noah will carry two of all.

How about having two programs for each languages, C#, Java, Code-C, DotNet etc. ? It would help rebuild our must have programs and Forums faster then. Instead of watching soaps on CRT TV or we better start with YouTube streaming on mobiles.

Huh, huh..

I started it anticipating some funny suggestion from friends. Thought "Living Room" was best place for it. But looks like I may be wrong.

I am a believer. I believe, it is Almighty GOD who has given me so much name and fame today. Before joining DC I was just a coder whom nobody knew. I will remain grateful to DC forever.

But I do not want to lose a friend just because I wanted to smile and get away from my hectic coding schedule. Please move this thread to basement or so and bring back our friend.

Regards,

Anand
