I use FF and tried Bookmarks clean up, to solve similar promlem of mine.

It did very good job of clean up. It does removes all broken and duplicate bookmarks. You have full control over it.

It also has chrome addon

You may try it.

NANY 2022 Entry Information

Application Name Source Code Watchdog
Version 1.0.0
Short Description Opens each source code file and looks for a defined string of text. If not found, show an alert for it.
Supported OSes WinXp and above
Web Page

Well we are facing this problem of malware (many out in the wild) encrypting our source codes and data. Then demanding bitcoins to decrypt them, but never does so, no matter how much we pay.

Now as a programmer our bread and butter are source codes which we write solving myriads of problems of our customer and in return we earn to sustain our family.

The executable we generate or the programs we download can be re-generate or re-downloaded. But the source codes have to be re-written painfully.

Using various backup methods we can ensure the last backup may have working codes, but those too may be just mirage as one of our co-programmer found out. All his hdd, NAS drives etc. were encrypted. Even the backup was of the encrypted files !!

Now we do not know when the malware is going to harm us. Since we have so many source codes of different projects in different folders, it is tough to check all the codes if they are Okay.

The plus point is that all our source codes are in text files and an encrypted source code is more visible (i.e. we can ensure it is Okay or not) than an encrypted executable.

Opens each source code file and looks for a defined string of text. If not found, show an alert for it.
You can define as many string texts as you like. I put my name as header in each source code file, so they can be easily checked. Further you can define the file extensions to be checked like bas, cpp, prg etc.
A alert window will show if any file do not contain the searched text. Two log files are created 'Found.log' and 'NotFound.log' with entries of full file names.

Just another thanks for t-clock; installed on a new windows 10 system.  Love seeing the day of the week in the taskbar.
Yes. I can not work without it. One glance and I know the day.

The sad part is Google is penalizing the developers who gave so much monetary value to them, just to show the world that 'they care for users'

Yes, thank you Deozaan  and all moderators for working hard to keep our forum spam free.

   :-*

One of my friend has developed web based products, which are accessible from Android, IPhone, Linux, Windows etc., and is offering them for low cost with source code.

Below is his purchase website link which displays more products. All are developed in B4X.

One may check them and contact him for more info. if required.
I am posting this message here on his behalf.

So while Half-life Alyx cannot be played in the Oculus portably because it's requires too much computation, it CAN be played if you tether the headset to your pc.  So in that sense it's the best of both worlds.

Oh I get all mixed up with VR and AR.

So it is like putting me on a new place which I can see in 360 deg. But the scenes are animated, right ?

Thanks mouser for the info.

The link shows ready made animation. Can you record a video of what you see using the vr ?

Say in around the garden/house and virtual things along with real ones, if possible. This will give us better idea of it.

We'll be stuck with millions of Windows 10 zombies
We still handle Win7 zombies here, client PC

Well, this is an absolute deal breaker for me.

[ Invalid Attachment ]

They introduced vertical tabs into Edge because wide screen monitors are so commonplace that it's now worthwhile to do it and save a little of the vertical real estate for content ... then they go do the opposite in the OS.

MS are retarded.

They now want to show you news on the left side of screen, like it or not

General Software Discussion / Re: Windows 11 Announced
« on: June 26, 2021, 07:41 AM »
If we look closely, then we see that MS has released a Win version with only cosmetic changes but new hardware requirement.

Now this will force new hardware purchase. Users will get nothing but some window dressing and loss of money.
Obviously someone will become rich.

As far as older hardware not supporting the new shiny OS then do not worry, just give it time. When all new sales dry up, then MS will come out with upgrade for older machines too. After all MS wants billions of computer using Win 11.

May come useful when needed.

Thanks for the NANY 2022 in advance.

N.A.N.Y. 2021 / Re: NANY 2021: MoveFileHere
« on: January 01, 2021, 03:09 AM »
MoveFileHere helps a workflow where we make the browser always download to a fixed Downloads folder and then quickly move the file elsewhere afterwards. Compare that to the workflow of quickly picking a custom download/save folder for each download using Listary or the small SaveAsPathHelper script I quickly made to mimic some Listary features.
Looks interesting
