General Software Discussion / Re: Volume Control recommendation

I've used Volumouse for years.

Here's the original page: http://www.nirsoft.net/utils/volumouse.html

I haven't had the need to try anything else.

Maybe Registry Explorer is worth a mention.  http://www.regxplor.com/

I like the fact that I can just copy a registry key and paste it into Windows Explorer.

The only thing I don't like about it is that it defaults to the Windows Explorer view.  In my case this is the thumbnails view which makes multiple edits a pain.

Hi skrommel.

Thanx yet again.

I'm having trouble with the latest version.  I've rebooted my machine & it seemed 2 work a couple times but then clips stopped being copied.

When trying 2 copy I got the tooltip message "Empty selection" & I couldn't paste the selection.  When I tried again I got the message "Same selection" & still couldn't paste.

The problem seems intermittent.

I'll try & determine the problem.

Still buggy.

OK, I've reread your post a couple dozen times & I'm beginning to understand... ;D

Thanx superticker.  Do you know how to set these priorities?

Onboard sound is more prone to stuttering when the CPU is busy.  I've managed to improve performance on one motherboard by downloading a driver from the chip manufacturer, even though the MB manufacturer still provides new drivers.

Onboard sound is so common that U will probably have to get it anyway.  If you are not satisfied, then, you can worry about getting a card.
