Clipboard Help+Spell / Re: Can't repair corrupt database
« on: April 04, 2021, 05:22 PM »
To respond to my own post...
Restarting Clipboard Help+Spell didn't help.
However, restarting Windows helped. Works fine now, and database verifies.
Very strange.

Clipboard Help+Spell / Can't repair corrupt database
« on: April 04, 2021, 01:54 PM »
I have had a lot of problems with the database lately. When I copy text, it is no longer added to the database (but it is copied to windows clipboard). Sometimes it shows up in the database 1- 2min later.

The first (and second) time I tried "Verify, Repair, Optimize Database" I got a message that the database had an error and I clicked on OK to Backup and Repair.
The database was backed up, and the program was then not responsive for 20-40 sec. There was no message that repair was completed or that the database was repaired.

If I now again try "Verify, Repair, Optimize Database", the program again stops responding for 20-40 sec, but no more messages about database errors or that the database is OK.

However, copied text is still not added to the database....
Is there some other way to repair the database? If not, how do I create a new database? Do I just delete the database directory?

I changed the settings but it didn't help much. The delay happens when I haven't opened the Quick Paste Menu for some time. If I open it, then subsequent opening are almost instant.

There is sometimes a long (~5 sec) delay to open up the Quick Paste Menu. I have not been able to out find exactly when that happens. Has anyone else experienced this? Any solutions?

I am dreaming of a product that takes the best of Ecco and InfoQube and puts them into one product  ;)

Has Ecco's memory limitations and risks for file corruption been taken care of by going to 64-bit?

@ viking, I notice that they're from the Philippines... could they have obtained the code Sally worked on back then ? Wasn't she also from that country ?

Hi Pierre,
Sally is actually from Singapore. I doubt that this is her creation. Her alpha looked quite different. It is more likely Slang. There are some images on the Ecco forum that have evolved very quickly.

It looks almost identical to Ecco Pro 8)!
An indispensable program which I am using daily together with Ecco Extension.

How will Polywick Story Server differ from Ecco Pro w. Extension?
Do you have a beta version which we may take for a spin?
