Hey the registered version looks awesome.  I like the ability to access DLLs.  I did notice that I occasionally got an error message.

It would be great if I could point CMF to a folder of ICO files as well.

Thanks.   And thanks again to Skwire  :D

Edit:  In the image, it's a huge DLL.   255 icons.  Not sure if that matters.

Chris,
The app looks pretty cool.
I'll probably buy a copy eventually...  Just can't right at this moment.
What will your upgrade policy be?

FYI http://www.bitsdujou...llmynotes-organizer/
I've not used the app, but it looks promising...  I expect it will be offered in the next day or two.

Cool.  Thanks for checking.   Foxit let's you select a rectangle of text, but not across pages.

406
I'm curious if SumatraPDF will let you select a rectangle that spans across pages?

Samurize is definitely more powerful than BGInfo.   The thing with BGI running, then shutting down, is an advantage IMHO.  You can use a command line to set the timer to 0, then it will launch and immediately shutdown--thus removing itself from RAM and not using any CPU.

I think maybe BGInfo lets you display the content of a text file.
Maybe make an Autohotkey script to open the text file, then update BGInfo when the window is closed...  (?)

Awesome Chris!  Thanks for posting.   Your CMF works great on Vista.
I especially like the way it stays out of memory until you need it.
Not sure if this is feasible, but it would be good if it could read the ICO files in a program folder and show those in the popup list.  Also, if it could read-and-display the ICOs in a DLL or ICL file it would be handy.

Just saw this on dottech  http://dottech.org/windows/windows-software-of-the-day/31247/windows-software-of-the-day-may-12-2012/#3
(different, but related)

Shift + F1 now opens the last session, even if you didn't save it (providing OpalCalc was previously closed).
Awesome.  Works like a charm.  Thanks for adding this!   ;D

Also, if your pc came with a recovery cd (i.e. the copy of Windows) you can try running that and see if there is an option to "repair windows."   Be careful though... Sometimes there's not, and it just "reinstalls" Windows, thus erasing all your settings and stuff.

415
One thing to try...  Go to http://technet.micro...m/en-us/sysinternals and get Autoruns.  It will scan your system for any and all startup entries (not just the ones in your startup folder).  Look around for anything that could have been put there by DiskKeeper.  You might also install RevoUninstaller and then RE-install DiskKeeper, and uninstall it with Revo (Revo will check for left over orphaned files and reg data).

Other than the 'dragging' part, you're describing things that can be accomplished entirely via keyboard, and therefor could also be recorded as a macro....  Also, be sure to check out the (previously mentioned) ASAP Utilities.  It has some advanced selecting capabilities.  (though I don't know if the ASAP functions can be recorded)

The object is not to figure out the spoons, but to realize there is no spoon.

Find And Run Robot / Re: can not find outlook email messages
« on: April 11, 2012, 03:05 PM »
My understanding is that Outlook messages exist an an alternate universe and therefor are inaccessible to FARR.  If you do a forum search for "xobni" you'll find a resent discussion on OL search indexers.  Basically there don't seem to be any good ones.

I wish there were.  Using OL's built-in search features is frustrating to say the least...

Interesting. Should I implement that on a sum by sum per basis, or a whole sheet basis? If I do the latter, it would enable the user to restore multiple sums at once.

Alternatively, to make it easier for me, I could add an option to restore just the last working session (sheet). Would this offer most of what you're looking for, or should I allow restoring of previous sheets (or sums) too?

RE 'Show history' feature request: I think that the most logical would be to save sessions.   A lot of the time that will be only one calculation.  So if I open OC, then do 2+2, then close it, that would be one session.  But if I open it and do a bunch of sums, then close it.  That would also be one session.  I find that, in practice, I often enter data, then delete it or change it and end up with my finished equation.  Then I'm done with OC so I close it.  It should save a history of only what was there when I close the app (the other stuff I deleted or changed is irrelevant and doesn't need to be recalled).  If OC could remember even the one most-resent calculation it would be good.  I'd say 90% of the time it's the most recent calculation the I need to revisit.

I guess you could have a pref option to "Remember the 'N' number of most recent sessions..."  Click the History Button once for the last session to be inserted at the top of the window.  Click it a second time for the next-most-resent to inserted above that, and so on.

Also note:  I'm not sure how this would work with the 5-line free version....  Maybe as OC added history items, the bottom-most calculations would get pushed down and anything below line 5 would get truncated(?)  Also, if there were Line References Such as "Total = Line 5 +1," they'd have to be update.  (i.e. If one line of history were added, it would become "Total + Line 6 + 1.")

Did I explain that coherently?
