HexBright, an Open Source Light

Goal$31,000
End DateMONDAY JUL 18, 11:00PM EDT
Project Creator(s)Christian Carlberg
Location-
Minimum Pledge$1
DescriptionJust about anywhere you can buy a cheap flashlight with a zillion unnecessary modes (high, med, low, slow blinky, fast blinky, SOS blinky... laser pointer too??). All garbage and the light will usually break on you. I made myself a light the way I wanted it; I picked the best available LED (a CREE XM-L!!!), a good rechargeable battery, built the electronics and programmed it with the only modes I wanted- high, low, and blinky. From necessity (also known as cheapness) I machined the body out of 1" aluminum hex bar stock and came up with a unique elegant look with a surprisingly very comfortable grip...

Have a few invites for the 'Facebook alternative' that got some attention last year and is rolling out very slowly. So far it's basically communicating with your 'aspects'. Aspects are pretty much segregated groups that you create to direct conversations to only those you choose.

Living Room / Auto close tags
« on: November 17, 2009, 03:51 PM »
Continuing my ongoing pointless questions

Does anybody know of a freeware html or text editor that has support for automatically inserting closing tags?
I type the h1 tag for example, add the text and then the closing tag is added automatically. Vim I believe does that using Ctrl+X+O, are there any free software that do the same or similar?

Post New Requests Here / IDEA: Keyboard cleaner
« on: November 17, 2009, 01:05 PM »
I was browsing and came across Keyboard Cleaner, a mac app that "comes in handy when you want to clean your keyboard, but you are afraid you might trigger a command or change or delete some of your current work beyond repair and undo...It shields your desktop and intercepts every keystroke you might accidentally make — except for Command-Q"

I don't think I have seen a Windows equivalent. If there is no such tool (perhaps using AHK?) for windows it could be very useful.
