Living Room / Re: Haiku Poetry Messages for Microsoft Errors
« on: March 01, 2008, 12:34 PM »
My cousin is a  retired college professor. He is also very big on all things Japanese.  I e-mailed him , giving the website link that  Darwin provided ( http://www.crisbrady.net/WinHaiku.html ) .  He e-mailed back that one of his students did a paper on haiku and included most of them in the paper.  I asked for the year and the grade but have not heard back yet.

In the late 80's Anthony Schembri was the Police Commissioner in the City of Rye NY.  I had a store there and knew him.  He was the inspiration for the TV show  The Commish .

Living Room / Re: USB Flash Drives: What to look for or avoid.
« on: February 26, 2008, 06:25 PM »
For what it is worth,  I bought a  no name ( super flash drive is printed on it) at a computer show about 18 mos ago. 4 GB  USB 2.0  I paid $ 35.00.  I don't know how fast it reads or writes but it is fast enough for me and the price was right (Oct  2006 ).  I loaded portable apps on it Firefox, Thunderbird, Open Office. All work fine.  U3 drives  take up a lot of space for the " U3 " function . (The U3 drive  part doesn't work on  my wife's Vista machine ) I don't think U3 is worth it.

As it always is,  a very interesting newsletter.  It  takes a lot of work and I ( and many others )
appreciate it very much.

Developer's Corner / Re: The DC Coders' Breakfast Club
« on: February 22, 2008, 06:17 PM »
1)Today I am going to research how to manipulate the Setting tab in the Display Properties box via the Win32 API, so I can do it programmatically using AutoIt.
2)I'll research how to code a mIRC script
  3) Use VBA to generate a graphical representation of a hierarchical data structure in Excel

I don't even understand what ANY of the above means, but I am GOOD at eating breakfast.

Tinjaw

I've been looking at CyberPad for about 1 1/2 yrs now.  I have not pulled the trigger because:
1) 1.1  USB port                hey it is 2008
2) I can't find any retail store that carries it  only on the web
3)Bundled with Evernote 1.1     I have 2.2
I just wonder if it is still supported. It does not seem to be  current / updated.

" but it will certainly reKindle interest "   I love that line.

I for one am interested in a reader.  I looked at the Sony last year, but just couldn't bring myself to pull the trigger . But I would really like to try before I shell out $ 400.00.
