but something like "mercury runner" could be feasible..

I like that. Something like "mercury runner" or "mercury launcher" would be pretty specific.

Have you seen quicksilver? the way it does it is as follows. You select the item on the search results and you click the right arrow. Then it shows you a list of things that you can do (like close, copy, and others). You select the option, type enter and the action is performed.

I've only seen this once in a friend of miens mac mini, but it seemed really easy to use.

Cheers,

Angel

If a update delay option was added, you would not need to use it if you don't want to.  :D

And looks _are_ important. A lot of people judge how good an app is by its look. If it looks "old" they will think that it is not good. I don't necesarily agree with that, but if I have 2 apps with the same functionality, I'll always prefer the better looking one.

Look at the review in downloadsquad. It is practically the only negative thing that they say about FRR.

I've thought of two other names that to me make sense. These make reference to "QuickSilver", which is the most famous (and probably the best) application launcher on Mac OSX. QuickSilver is is the application launcher by which all other application launchers are measured. I've seen countless forum posts on the net of people asking for a "QuickSilver for windows" or "QuickSilver alternative for windows". I believe that FRR is that alternative :-*. So here we go!

- Mercury: Why? Because Mercury is also called QuickSilver :) (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Quicksilver).

- GoldFast: Again, a reference to QuickSilver  ;).

Note that all these could be appended with "Find and Run Robot" as jdmarch suggested, which I think is a great idea. Thus it could be called "Mercury Find and Run Robot" for instance.

Also, instead of Ruunba, what about "Rumba" (like the Latin dance?). FRR makes my computer dance  ;)

Cheers!

P.S.- Out of these, I think the one I like most is Mercury.
P.S.2.- Mouser, I hope you do not find pretentious or annoying me telling you which name you should use to rename FRR. You must have the last word on this!!!  :-[

Hi guys,

I just wanted to let you know that Find and Run Robot has been mentioned in the "Today's Free File" section of www.downloadsquad.com, which by the way is one of the coolest web pages on the Net! :D They review all sorts of cool programs and other hacks and they seem to have liked FRR a lot.

Mouser, it is a pity that you do not have a better picture of FRR on the main page, because they used the picture with the default skin and they even mention that the default skin does not look nearly as good as most of the other skins.

Anyway, I think this is really cool, and hopefully it will let more people know about FRR and DonationCoder.

Cheers,

Angel

P.S.- By the way it seems that they reviewed FRR after they saw my comment in the comment thread of a previous article that they made about SlickRun  :D
P.S.2.- The link to the actual article is http://www.downloadsquad.com/2006/01/27/find-and-run-robot-todays-free-file/.
