I am not Skrommel, but I think 2006-04-02 is in the format of YYYY-DD-MM. I could be wrong but that appears to be the format to me.

The license key is valid for 1 year. After one year you need to just re-register.

But...when I viewed this http://www.avast.com...rials/insert_key.htm it said 14 months at the end of the tutorial.

According to where I saw on their site. License keys for free updates last for 14 months after that simply re-register the home edition for free. Then that key will last for another 14 months and so on.

Regarding the 2 icons for avast! you can merge them by right clicking on the VRDB icon and clicking "Merge with main avast! icon".

To test that you can also go into paint flood fill then goto exit and it asks if you want to save hit ctrl + c then take it into a text editor and hit ctrl + v.  No crash needed to see it in action.
