Description:
This program helps to locate and fix LCD screens dead pixels.

You can fix the stuck pixels by calling them to do rapid changes. You need to run this program for a couple of hours. There is no warranty on the result, but you don't really have anything to lose trying it out. Good luck.

Find And Run Robot / "Shorter" command description
« on: December 30, 2006, 10:53 AM »
Hello,

how about little bit shorter command description. e.g. at the FARR contextmenu menu.
This would have the advantage, that the user can easily spot them.

Add this file to the user toolbar -> Add to User Toolbar
Add this file to a group alias - > Add to Group Alias

Add a rule to prevent file from found again -> Ignore file

Copy target path to clipboard -> Copy target path

Add an explicit rule for this file -> add explicite rule

Find And Run Robot / select multiple entries at once
« on: December 26, 2006, 03:05 PM »
option to select select multiple entries at once (shift + mouseclick)

this could be useful, if you want to select multiple entries which FARR should ignore

57
Idea: Shift + Rightclick on an entry should directly show the Explorer contextmenu

General Software Discussion / Looking for some stylish mouse cursors
« on: December 23, 2006, 10:10 AM »
Hello,

I want to refresh my WInXP interface.
I already use the OpusOS Theme.
http://www.deviantar...m/deviation/4591314/

What I am still looking for is new theme for my windows mouse cursors.
What can you recommend?

59
I still use Office 2003 (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Outlook @ work). Does it make sense to update?
Is the new interface a big deal?

60
depending on wich numbers you use (numpad or the numbers of the left keyboardside), Farr would start URLs with another browser

62
Windows Startmenu won't popup (using windows key) if FARR is in foreground.
I have to close FARR window, then I can use windows key to open Windows startmenu

General Software Discussion / New Copy DVD Tool: AmoK DVD Shrinker
« on: October 02, 2006, 08:08 AM »
Description

AmoK DVD Shrinker can “shrink” DVDs on up to a fifth their original size around it on non removable disk or a DVD blank to copy. The structure and all contents of (menu, sub-title, etc.) remain the DVD completely received whereby optionally also only the actual main film are shrunk. Also long features can be copied by shrinking a DVD on normal DVD blanks with e.g. 2,5 or 4,7 GB capacity. AmoK DVD Shrinker works with an open SOURCE DLL von ShrinkTO5, who offers outstanding quality at high speed. The Benuteroberfäche is clearly held and offers nevertheless all necessary options. AmoK DVD Shrinker cannot burn DVDs, the software is only meant for shrinking DVDs.

Some DVDs is copy-protected by CSS. At least in Germany is it forbade such a copy protection actively going around. For this reason AmoK DVD Shrinker does not offer a direct possibility a copy-protected DVD to process (DeCSS). The Machinist2.dll freely available in the Internet is supported. This extends AmoK DVD Shrinker by several useful functions. The file must be only copied from the Download into the AmoK DVD Shrinker program directory, in order to be able to use extended functionality.

Feature

- Shrinking DVDs
- Goal size between 2.50 and 4.70 GB adjustable
- 100% are not gone around legally there the DeCSS copy protection
- Support of the widespread Machinist2.dll, which make a shrinking possible of nearly all DVDs (also DeCSS protected DVDs)
- Audio and sub-titles selectablly
- Clear ones and easily operated user surface
- Fast as most competition programs
- Shrinking the whole DVD or only the main film
- Choice whether shrinking fast to go is or with high quality
- Status indication
- free of charge

I tested it and the speed and quality is really good

General Software Discussion / Rainlendar 2 Public Beta available
« on: September 16, 2006, 09:33 AM »
The beta version of Rainlendar2 can be downloaded from here:

Windows: http://ipi.fi/~rainy...inlendar-2.0.b21.zip
Linux: http://ipi.fi/~rainy...ndar-2.0.b21.tar.bz2

Notes:

The beta is the pro version of Rainlendar2 which means that also the Outlook and network calendar support is included. However since most of you don't have a license file, the calendar displays "[Unregistered]" text in events that originate from Outlook or from a network calendar. Licenses are not available yet.

The Linux version is compiled in Debian 3.1 on x86 platform. It should work in most of the recent Linux distributions. The Windows version requires Windows 2000 or newer (Win9x is not supported).

Please read the documentation before you ask any questions.

Install:
No installation required. Just uncompress and run.

Find And Run Robot / not adding more and more options ...
« on: August 20, 2006, 10:23 AM »
I think instead of adding more and more options, it would be better to remove really unnecessary options.

So the whole options dialog will be cleaner.

e.g.

If there is only one hit, launch it by hitting enter

option could be enabled by default and removed from the optionmenu

How do you encode a DVD to a DivX/XVid file?
which program do you use.

Currently I am using DVD Decrypter with AutoGK, but I wan to know if there are better alternatives

this would be cool

you can download and test the newest alpha version here.
There a lot of improvements

General Software Discussion / Mpui - Media Player Similar To VlC
« on: August 06, 2006, 10:40 AM »
MPlayer is arguably the best media player application of the world. Is is almost strictly monolithic, which means that it mainly consists of a single 7 MB executable that already contains all necessary codecs – for most files, it does not need any external codecs to be installed. If you want to know more about this wonderful program, please visit the MPlayer homepage.

Features
MPlayer and MPUI, when teamed up, offer the following features:

A media player with a clean and simple interface.
Plays hundreds of different video and audio formats, including MPEG-1, -2 and -4 (DivX), H.264, MP3, Ogg Vorbis and AAC. For most media files, no additional codecs are needed. (This is because MPlayer is not one of the uncounted DirectShow players – the codecs are directly integrated into MPlayer.exe.)
MPUI and MPlayer together are just about 3.5 MB in size.
The most important MPlayer options (aspect ratio, deinterlacing, and postprocessing) can be configured without typing in cryptic command-line options. (But if you want or need some non-standard options, you can still add them by hand.)
Support for multiple audio and subtitle tracks on DVDs.
Combines MPlayer's cool keyboard navigation with a mouse-controlled seekbar.
Plays files, network streams and discs (such as (S)VCD or DVD). Drag&Drop supported.
Multilingual user interface.
No installation is required to use MPUI/MPlayer. Simply copy the two .exe files into a directory of your choice an run MPUI.
Using a special autorun.inf file, self-playing DivX CDs can be made. This adds only 3.5 MB to your CD, and on the computer playing the disc, no codecs need to be installed.
Both programs are free, licensed under the GNU General Public License.
