Is there an mp3 splitter which lets you define multiple start and end points, so that upon clicking on the execution button, it would create multiple smaller mp3 clips as per the selections? I know of mp3directcut, but afaik, you can define only one selection at a time before outputting it as an mp3 clip.

I am also not looking for time-based splitter where it splits every so minutes. The selections would be done manually. Any ideas?
Thanks.

Hi,
Is there a free software that has the popular livetrace feature of Adobe Illustrator?
(what it does is, you load an image, and it draws a vector image of the image, which you can easily modify).
Thanks.

Yes, I did try Dropbox; but it requires you to either have the files on the computer as local files all the time, or you would have to download the entire folder in zip format, unzip it, then run it.

Anyhow, I found zumodrive, which seems to do what I wanted.
I uploaded many portable apps from the lupo portable suit on my zumo account, which can be loaded as a Removable drive (not a Network Drive). So the computer sees it like a usb pen drive, which is cool; it's very easy to save file directly in this virtual drive, and it loads very fast.

It seems to also allow streaming of softwares. What it does is, if i had to open Xnview portable, I would double click on xnview.exe, and it would stream it, and also load any dll or other files that is required to load the exe. All of this kept at your defined cache location, so frequent softwares load without further streaming.

Same goes for mp3 files it seems. It loads few bits of the file and streams the file, and you can even skip frames.
So far so good.

ehm...whatever you said went over my head...

Though Chrome does have a developers' version that does have some extensions available - have you looked into that?
Actually that's the one I have been using.

Hi,
I recently came across Skydrive Explorer, which lets you store, copy, and delete files of upto 50 mb in size onto your Microsoft Skydrive's online storage. This is great, but it doesn't really let me 'open' the file. I could view an mp3 file as if it's in a local folder, but couldn't just play it with my media player - i would have to download it first fully, then work with it.

Is there a similar service/software which lets you not only do the above, but also lets you "run" the file in real time - sort of like streaming of an mp3 file, or running of a portable application, as if it was a file on your computer?
Thanks.

All great ideas. Thanks.

Snail2, I certainly respect your choice of browsers, but you sure have limited yourself there as far as compatible apps go.

Jim

What am I to do brother.. I tried really hard liking Firefox, but it just never worked out due to several reasons (computer speed, experience with other browsers, etc). Same goes for IE, but I do sometimes use Maxthon and more frequently TheWorld browser, both of which are comparatively better than IE. If there was some desktop+online app which I could use full time to replace Evernote, and required me to switch to an IE based browser such as TheWorld, I would probably switch without much complain.

iCyte - web only, but worth a try.
iCyte looked really awesome from their video overview. Unfortunately, it only supports IE, and Firefox, none of which I use (Opera/Chrome).

One drawback of diigo/iCyte like service is that you can not access your research notes if you do not have a net connection, which can sometimes be a deal breaker.

Any idea of how to integrate such online services in a way that a copy of the note is available in offline mode as well? May be a cool Dropbox integration of some sort? I don't know..

eNotefile looked promising from the video tour, but it was terribly slow. Has anyone else used it? Is it just my computer?
Thanks.
Btw. thanks for all the suggestions, though I am looking for something which also has a desktop client along with the online interface, i.e. much like Evernote, but doesn't have to have all the features of Evernote; as long as it has web clipping and note taking.

Thanks.

Is there any alternative to Evernote which note only clips notes from web pages, but also lets you access them through a website?
Thanks.

wow. That's awesome..looking forward to it.
Hopefully you haven't minded the comment; it worked in chrome after a long loading time, but didn't work in opera at all (froze it).

Thanks scancode; the jellyfish site is terribly slow at loading the file; i assume it downloads the entire file and plays the designated clip. Not really ideal in my case as the audio size is large.
Can you recommend an alternate site?
Thanks!

Developer's Corner / TubeChop like site for Mp3 files?

[Not sure if this is the right forum to ask this question; feel free to move/remove the topic if necessary]

Is there any site that takes in an mp3 link you provide, lets you specify a 'section' of the mp3, and generates a new link of the 'clip' for you to share with others, which they can play online?..much like how tubechop.com works, but it's only for youtube videos; i am looking for the same functionality but for mp3 files.

Thanks a lot.

Hi,
I once came across this software (unsure if it was at donationcoder) which would remember the size and position of a given program.
So for example, I could specify a region on the screen for Notepad, as well as its window size and every time I would start notepad, it would open up in that specified region with that particular window size. So basically it would allow a grid-like allocation of space to programs.

Does anyone know what that program is, or any program that does the same?
Thanks.

Is there any way to open folder of a specific file in the search result?

@hero, Pardon my ignorance..but how do i assign a different keyword to your function?
$ folder searches for 'folder'. however, when i change that to any other letter, and search using that expression, it doesn't work.
if i wanted to search for folders with regular expression 'fd' what would the function look like?
Thanks a lot !

+\ worked for me when there is a space between the search term and "+\"
i.e. "+\ opera" worked, "+\opera" didn't.

Is there any other method?...cos typing + on a laptop is a bit difficult..

Find And Run Robot / Search Folders Only?

Hello,
I download FARR today, and it's a great program.
So far i have left the settings to its default.
The priority of the folder searching is at the right place when i am looking for something both as a file and folder.
However, sometimes i want to search for folders only.
Is there any way to search for folders only, possibly with an alias?
i.e. if i want to search for all folders called "opera", i type in "fd opera" and it displays only folders named opera (fd as the alias for 'folders only').

Is that possible, or any other method to achieve the same result?
Thanks.
