I'll certainly keep you updated on this though but if you have any thoughts on how you would like it to work, please let me know - Any ideas are very welcome  :D

What mouser said about being able to edit docs using the CMS system sounds important and useful -- at the same time, the option of being able to work with one's preferred tools (e.g. for editing) and then with minimal fuss update/post would be nice.

On a separate note, I may have missed it, but is there a link or three to be examined for a sneak preview?

I've had pretty good results using the command line tool mutool (using the "clean" subcommand) that comes with mupdf.  I haven't tried on Windows, but may be mutool comes in one of the files at the following:

  http://mupdf.com/downloads/

mutool clean [options] input.pdf [output.pdf] [pages]

The clean command pretty prints and rewrites the syntax of a PDF file. It can be used to repair broken files, expand compressed streams, filter out a range of pages, etc.

If no output file is specified, it will write the cleaned PDF to "out.pdf" in the current directory.

What formats can be used for an article?  Perhaps there is an example document?

I'd like to maintain the source documents in some kind of revision / source code repository (not asking for this portion) and be able to export / update to the CMS if possible.

The portable version with sha256 checksum:

  2760f069eb62475073cfaf7c9675b50cca457aec7dcfa522d67671a48863fb97

still behaves as reported before (regarding non-minimization at start-up).

FWIW, the options window displays an unchecked checkbox for "Start minimized".

This was tested with W7 Professional 64-bit version.

Ah, may be you hadn't changed anything in the last update...
