When I was young we didn't have computers! I can still remember the first available pocket calculators which seemed pretty whizzo at the time - even if you did have to learn RPN to use them ;)

Neither did we ...I use to have to go to the corner cafe and use the slot machines

Congrats to all the April winners...

55
That sounds like a good idea ...At least it would open a new window to the rest of the world...i.e. Education ect and giving them the opertunety of discovering that there is more to life than they just live in...

OK so everyone is busy having their say and anyone can come up with an idea...I would like to say this: In my opinion there are a lot of needy people...(OK besides myself and others on this forum who are less fortunate) All I Hear is about 'Coding snacks' and so on let's also think about the 'Less Fortunate' how about a 'Wish List' Kitty (Not the meowing type) Where at least members can donate a little something whenever it pleases them which piles up and once the target is reached so you buy whatever is really needed (In this event you would find out from homes EXAMPLE: 'Disabled' (Wheelchairs)...'For the Blind' (Guide Dogs ect) ...(Childrens homes)...What ever may be really an advantage to the individual, obviously looking at the own interest of Donationcoder.com (which would come first)...I think what goes round comes around...After all this is the Donationcoder.com forum...Just another crazy idea!

It's well and truly outstanding to award credits to those that are deserving...All you need now is to open a bank   account and invest them credits and gain interest ;D...Heh heh! (Just kidding) ...Welldone!

General Software Discussion / Re: Guitar Software
« on: April 04, 2006, 01:28 PM »
Hi Jasper I have sent you mail regarding practice of guitar this should keep you busy...Remember learning to play the guitar takes a lot of patience...First things first....Decide what you going to do i.e. Classical...Rock...Temperary, Reggae, pop...ect....Obviously having a electric guitar is all very well...I have been through the mill with music so take my advice if you are going to learn to play guitar you should invest in a cheap accoustic guitar(Box guitar) to learn to play you need to learn to tune the guitar first which isn't difficult, then different Chords and strumming technics...and of course most important of all you got to have rythmn without rythmn you wasting your time...Remember that you must practice at least three chords a day and also you going to get sore finger tips so don't over do it...Guitar playing is one of the hardest instruments to grasp not to mention if you also want to read/write/compose music. There are hundreds of different chords but you should start off with Major chords then bar chords and so on...I have sent you what is called a "Nut Chordfinder" this is very useful and simple to use...Have a look and try it...It is a freeware program and difficult to come by...

Yes it is a good idea to find someone who can show different chords ect and also songs that are used by the chords you've learned...I.E. if you've learned 4 chords ask whoever you able to get (preferably someone who has more experience than yourself) for a song with those 4 chords(Something that is familiar to you) Remember with a box guitar you can play quietly and be able to pick up falsetto's(Which is a chord you are pressing incorrectly, although you think you are pressing correctly)...With an electric you'll just get noise and the sound won't be distinctive...And nine times out of ten the person who is helping you along would also have an accoustic guitar which will sound a lot better and you'll be able to pick up a lot more...Once you've learnt a song or two then you can try it on your own with the electric guitar and you'll find it more appreciatable...The best way to learn is to take classical lessons this way you'll learn to read, write and play the guitar with not only a plactrum but also give your fingers a lot of practice...Once you have learnt something you can create your own style in playing and branch out to different areas in music...I started off on a box guitar... today I compose, read and write music done a lot of recordings, play bass.keyboards.lead and rythmn and vocal...before all this I knew nothing about music...In my opinion Classical lessons is the best way to go(Remember you don't have to stick to classical but you will learn alot) and you can go very far in the musical world...Don't Give up to easily!...And Good Luck!

Living Room / Re: hard drive resurrection [I'm desperate!]
« on: March 25, 2006, 11:37 AM »
I do a lot of GetBackData and use special programs...My advice is don't play around too much with the drive you bound to lose everything you have on it...Don't try over write, format or defrag or use on the internet you will not be able to recover any data...usually the companies who do Data recovery have set principals that if they don't recover anything you don't pay anything....If the Data is of great value and you are desperate then you should shop around and have it seen to...I unfortunetly live many miles away otherwise I could help you( For Free)
REMEMBER: You cannot back up on the same drive you recovering from...Even if the drive was working...You must back up onto a different harddrive...If you using Software to retrieve data, Do not install onto the same drive/Partition you recovering  Or Saving Data to...Bad Idea...You'll get Gibberish back...Just take out your damaged hard drive and connect your drive as a Slave...Recommend a clean (Not Damaged and  Virus Free) or new harddrive...Set as master Run software from a CD... You'll pick up the two drives...It'll will give you the Hard drive options of either lost HDD, partitions or folders Deleted folders/lost folders ect to restore...Set your options and save onto the  master drive

Ha_Ha-Ha  That in S.A. will never happen, >:( certainly not with our Tele service provider...When it comes to telephone calls and Internet you pay up or you get cut off Full Stop :'(...UNLESS VOIP but I'm not sure on that one either...

70
That's the object of the game so that you can forget about reality for the rest of infinity...I've never got to the end of it...The object of stop playing is when you get bored of hearing the same sound over and over again..HehHeh

71
You should'nt have done this because it's very addictive...I've downloaded it but there are so many other games to choose from...And they all so good...They should put an age restriction on this one...1-6 year old then we wouln't get addicted to it...

72
This is what you need after a stressed out day...Very cool...Synth Sounds are 'Out Of This World'...I play around with a lot of Synths and come up with some weird sounds myself..but this is amazing stuff

CONGRATS...AND WELL DONE TO ALL!

75
Well...That's one way of making money from a pack of lies and dishonesty......But then have you ever sat down and watched TV ads?...Especially the slimming  ads...All those beautiful girls with attractive  bodies, and body building guys... that they use in the ads? and they ask you if you'd like to look like them...by their product and you'll notice after so many days the difference... Come on give me a break...No amount of their products are going to make one look handsome, beautiful and young again like them ads on TV...So there are so many companies competing and always say their products are the best...Why not use natural, ordinary people and really get down to brass and tacks and see how the product really works?...If at all...
