N.A.N.Y. 2012 / Re: NANY 2012 Pledge & Early Beta: Ethervane Echo
« on: November 28, 2011, 03:07 AM »
Some more ideas for Echo (sorry if they are already included - didn't used it much yet):

-  backup database feature to a folder of user's choosing and/or make backup automatically after exiting the Echo
-  add time and date to a clip or at least make an option that Echo separates clips, stored on particular date like:

Nov. 23th
clip1
clip2
clip3

Nov 24.th
clip4
clip5

-  add option to make all clips that are harvested sticky automatically
-  blinking icon in Tray every time a clip is stored (if Connect to Clipboard is not checked or there is some error you are notified by icon blinking in red color, otherwise in green color)
-  clip counter for particular session for each View (Sticky, All Clips, etc.)

Looks OK, but the public comp I often use does not have .NET installed.

Update: I tried PEW on that comp and works fine. It appears that .NET is installed after all.

Does it have a floating Capture Panel like Fast Stone Capture?

N.A.N.Y. Challenge 2007 / Re: Volt - v0.0.6 - December 17, 2006
« on: November 12, 2011, 01:35 AM »
Or add mouse-only option. By drawind a circle with your mouse (like in Magic Formation) a small tyre-like object would appear on the screen. By scrooling your mouse that object would get filled with color from right to left- more scrolling, higher volume you would get. Scroll down to set volume lower. After a couple seconds of inactivity it would dissapear ...

It could get useful for Trout also because some don't want for Trout to appear on screen at all (not even Minibar) ...

It could also have special mode for people who are disabled. There are people that just can't use keys because they can't move their fingers/arms etc. I heard of software that enables you to move a mouse just with the moving of your eyes. With eye movement they could so invoke Volt although I do not know how would they mimic scrolling to move volume up/down...

Another idea: make Volt recognize speech  :). So when Volt is activated and someone says Down/Up, volume gets up/down to a certain degree.

Possibilities are endless. You just have to explore them (although my post doesn't make sense  :D)

I do not want to open a new threat so will ask my question here. How to delete the duplicate url links from txt files so, that the remaining links would stay in the same order as before (no sorting)?

Moderator of Best Music Player and Organiser on TechSupportAlert about Trout player:"It has some nice advantages with the BASS engine, playing lots of music formats and resource efficiency (it would place high on my list of the lightest players). It seems to continually improve and has active development. Auto loads lyrics now (without tag saving support).

I've commented about it somewhere in past here, and I have similar problems this time with a slow playlist, and I saw an innocuous error message under a standard account (but it didn't seem to hinder any noticeable functions)."

Ah, so it opens a blank fSekrit document and pastes the stuff - guess that could be useful for some people.

Well, mods finally updated my extension so you can sleep calmly now.

Cheers

Could you make an option to backup (and restore) settings configuration to some other folder outside (or inside) Trout - like config-backup.ini? I have opened Trout yesterday and it was set differently that before. It took me a couple of minutes to set it back as it was, but nevertheless it would be helpful to have this feature ...

Oh, and I know what you gonna say: Just copy config.ini to some other folder yourself.

Just askin'.

 :)

If someone from you use Spider player as a main player (or as a secondary player to Trout), then listen to this: Spider Player Pro is now offered for free from their main site http://spider-player.com/ (look under what's new).

Skwire, would the option Shut down Trout after x minutes be useful? For those who want to sleep in the afternoon with the help of music but do not want that after they fell asleep Trout playes on?

Yes, I know what you gonna say: just put 2, 3 songs in the playlist.  :D True, what can I say?

If this would be achievable, it would be good for those which listen music before they go to sleep in the evening to add to option I mentioned before an option that if that option is checked, then after Trout's shut down shut down (or at least put in hibernation) the comp as well so the music won't play all night.

If you find my idea stupid, please don't answer.  :D

Just without or with not so strong black color in them. I prefer Foobar buttons - they are smaller and they don't pop in your eyes everytime you open Trout.

I know they say that bigger is better, but they could be smaller (I remember skwire said that they cannot be resized by user). At least I think so.

But never mind that, I prefer Minibar anyway.
