Hi timns - this looks like a very nice and useful tool!

However, I am having serious problems using Dutch regional settings and the US International keyboard. This keyboard allows me to easily use characters like ë in words like cliënt (the quotation/double quotation key becomes a dead key - you type "e to get ë). But Auspex does not feel happy about this. In fact, when Auspex is running, the dead keys no longer work - hitting the " key generates "".

Also, replacement strings with dead characters get mangled: the replacement string cliëntenraad gets rendered as cli¿enraad in the UI after closing and restarting Auspex, and generates clienraad when actually replacing. Also, sometimes the arrow keys suddenly start generating card symbols (cannot reproduce this reliably).

Hope this helps - keep up the good work!

I really need to mention OneNote 2010 here. Its implementation of live search -or whatever it's called- is pretty impressive. Also pretty essential in a note-taking application like OneNote.

there was an emphasis on not making it a door stop
The modern ones don't become door stops - they become paper weights instead: progress! ;)

By the way, DaddyDave, I don't know if you use OneNote at all, but I have recently written a similar utility to quickly create a OneNote note. See https://www.donationcoder.com/forum/index.php?topic=23622.0.
