Thanks for such a prompt reply!

I have one to get rid of the context menu items I don't want, and I love the idea of FastExplorer, being able to roll my own that I do want, but I would really love to have the twain meet, and not have to double-team the context menu, just to make it function as I wish.

I am a semi-recovering freeware junkie of the packrat variety, and now I am on this less is more kick, trying to reduce the number of programs running at any given time, even reducing the installed population, so that they can all have more room to breathe, stretch their legs, maybe even set out a couple of pepper plants...

Ohh! This sounds too good to be true!

You mean I can just waltz in here, blush a little, lower my lashes, and shyly confide my Most Secretest FireFox Extension Desires and Uncensored XP Tweakage Fantasies and some Gallant Knight, Valiant Lady or Noble Drag Queen will gallop up on a sleek black keyboard, swoop them up and carry them off to a secure undisclosed location and ravish them into something so instantly clickable and idiot-proof that it does not even require the addition of cute cartoon helpmice?

If so, may all applicable deities and carefully selected associated djinns and spirits have mercy upon your carpal tunnels, you people should have never let me in here.

Because what I want, first of all, is ONE Firefox extension that will:

1) put tabs on the bottom like https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/1122 Tab Mix Plus
2) close tabs with a double click like https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/260 Tab Clicking Options
3) cause the active tab to be a different color than the other ones like https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/1368 Colorful Tabs

At the time of this writing, all these things are possible - separately. In other words, there are already extensions that do all those things, but they are not all compatible with each other.

Is there a very good reason for that? Am I asking the impossible? Have I stumbled upon some Great Firefox Conundrum that sages regularly spend hours puzzling over?

Or have I, just maybe, dared to type aloud a long-suppressed Firefox Extension yearning that languishes in other hearts?

I hope I posted this correctly. If I did not, I promise to compose an apology.

Feel free to point and laugh and place a comical hat upon my head if I have missed something written in really big letters, but would Fast Explorer allow me to ditch the current freeware utility I am using to get rid of unwanted context menu items?

You know, all the ones slapped on by this or that program, that the program itself doesn't provide an option to get rid of them, or if it does, you can't find it, so your context menu ends up with about 9 squillion entries, approximately 7 of which you use or need...

This could mean a very good chance at government funding and contracts for those who might wish to develop similar projects that could help America fight the war on terror by rooting out individuals who visit websites whose content might be interpreted as critical of US policies!

Conversely, anyone who might want to work on a "link pre-cacher" that would defy detection would probably want to do so - and distribute it, anonymously to avoid being suspected of having suspected links to links that might be suspected of being with the terrorists, aiding not only pedophilia, but also the incitement of anti-American sentiment, as well as contributory violation  of the Patriot Act, in the form of a willful attempt to prevent authorities from obtaining information needed to enforce the Patriot Act, protect American children, defend freedom, and win the war on terror.

And of course, Americans, or others who are subject to American laws, which would mean anyone who lives in a country other than the US, would want to avoid those link pre-cachers, because even if they don't mind being considered pro-pedophile, they would not want to be suspected of being anti-American!

Or anti-business, because to oppose this important strategy is to oppose the terrific possibilities for those whose portfolios include Halliburton subsidiary, CCA (if it's not a subsidiary of Halliburton, at least officially, yet) - it's impossible to predict how many additional facilities - both in and outside US borders - will be needed as link-caching perps are smoked out of their caves and brought to the justice of indefinite detention!

More government funding opportunities - training programs for America's educators - even schoolchildren will be able to do their part in the fight against pedophiles and terror by rooting out link-pre-cachers  installed on home computers!

And as those rogue parents are rendered, that will mean more funding for additional facilities to house The Littlest Patriots themselves!

OK, so it might be a year, even more, before we can all be sure that every single link we - or our software - clicks is being carefully reviewed by a real live regime operative, but it's a step toward some really empowering changes for all the millions of internet users,  who can all rest a little easier tonight knowing that somewhere in Washington, at least one Task Force has got their back!
