If you want it smaller, here's the program in assembly. Executable file has size of 1536 bytes.

Code: ASM [Select]
  1. .486                                ; create 32 bit code
  2.     .model flat, stdcall                ; 32 bit memory model
  3.     option casemap :none                ; case sensitive
  4.
  5.     include \masm32\include\windows.inc
  6.     include \masm32\include\kernel32.inc
  7.     include \masm32\include\user32.inc
  8.     include \masm32\include\shell32.inc
  9.
  10.     includelib \masm32\lib\kernel32.lib
  11.     includelib \masm32\lib\shell32.lib
  12.
  13.     .code
  14. start:

  21.         local   currentSysTime:SYSTEMTIME
  22.         local   newFileTime:FILETIME
  23.
  24.         invoke  GetCommandLineW
  25.         mov     commandLine, eax
  26.         invoke  CommandLineToArgvW, commandLine, addr numOfArgs
  27.         mov     argsP, eax
  28.         cmp     numOfArgs, 2
  29.         jl      failure
  30.         mov     eax, argsP
  31.         mov     ebx, [eax + 4]
  32.         invoke  CreateFileW, ebx, FILE_READ_ATTRIBUTES+FILE_WRITE_ATTRIBUTES, FILE_SHARE_READ+FILE_SHARE_WRITE, NULL, OPEN_EXISTING, 0, NULL

Erm... Whatever happened to the TextPipe Pro prize?
-Ethan

Sorry i missed this question when it was posted.

The TextPipe people decided they didn't want to donate any copies for us to give away.  It was my mistake to put it on the drawing form.  It's the first time a company has declined to give us any copies, but I still should have confirmed with them first before I added it to the drawing form.  My apologies.

No problem, too bad they didn't want to donate any copies. That was my sole entry for the draw so I was curious what happened to it.

Try "777" for their L1 annual plan at about $10 (can't remember) for the first year.

Site/Forum Features / Re: The new forum is up!!
« on: March 12, 2006, 05:46 AM »
Nice!

Congrats on the new forums.. I can see that there will be some interesting features coming along :)

36
Let's see...

UML Tools (Visual Paradigm, Enterprise Architect, Jude, etc)
Debugging Tools (Debuggers, Heap/Leak checkers)
Database Tools (MySql Administrator/VistaDB/XML Parsers, etc)

Embeddable Scripting Languages? (Lua, Python)

Don't know if GUI Toolkit is covered under Graphic Toolkit, but if it's not, that's another possible area to investigate. For example, Codejock Xtreme Toolkit.

Finished Programs / Re: small prog to hide desktop
« on: January 31, 2006, 11:00 PM »
Here's a tiny program to temporarily toggle on/off the display of the desktop icons.
Extract it and create a shortcut to it. You can then assign a shortcut key to the program to do what you want.

Doesn't preserve position across resolution change though.

Post New Requests Here / Re: Trigger on Mouse Hover

Coded this as "Maomi Activate On Mouse Idle".

Maomi is available from http://www.streamloa.../hwt/Projects/Maomi/

Interested parties, please download and install the Maomi.msi file and run the Maomi.exe in the target directory.
No manual written yet, but it shouldn't be too difficult to figure out the project :P

Best Website Change Monitoring Tool / Re: compared with Check and Get
« on: January 24, 2006, 07:23 AM »
Hi there!

The new version of Check&Get (v3) will be released soon. The new version will be able to define the custom web-filters to ignore/monitor partial content of web-pages. Also, it will have the "Keyword Monitoring" feature. And more other improvements.

Any suggestion of user interface improvements are welcome! I am contantly working on improving the user interface and appreciate any help and suggestions.

Sincerely yours,
Dmitry Skorniakov,
http://ActiveURLs.com

I was interested to see if Check & Get would fit my needs, especially since I missed the discount. However, judging from the date of the post, it does seem that v3 is taking a very long time.

Any chance of a rerun of Website Watcher discount?
