Feature requests:
--Add all 4 buttons to Firefox.  (Search in Linkman, Show Linkman, add to linkman, add to linkman and edit)

--Allow users to control which buttons appear or not.

--Import launch count from Powermarks.

--Allow secondary column sorting.  For example, if I want to sort by launch count, but the launch count is equal, then the secondary sort can be set to rating or description, etc.

--Allow batch assigning ratings.  If I select a bunch of bookmarks and want them all rated "2" then I should be able to do it.  Now, if I select them all and go to assign a rating, it only does one of them.

batch assigning of ratings not working is a bug (it works in the treeview! does not in the query results) and will be fixed in 7.7.0.6.

the same goes for the launch count import from powermarks.

as to the buttons, I think they are in the todo list.

p.s.

you can assign hotkeys to all 4 of these functions.

The only thing I can think to add to these is the ability to control how many context menu items are added to Internet Explorer. I think it is currently four!

If you think that they are all needed, then add a submenu to the IE context menu and have them fly out from there.

Thanks!

Jim

I think most users would be against a submenu, because it would slow down the operations.

Linkman does not specifically launch IE to display CHM, but the program that is associated with CHM on the system (which in 99.9% of the cases is IE).

Firefox has no ability to display CHM files. So this is not a configuration issue. All CHM files, on all Windows versions and from all programs are displayed by Internet Explorer. If you don't like this you can use the PDF help file.

During implementation we have discovered that Firefox 3 does not allow write access to its database while Firefox is running (so the user would have to quit FF3 in order to export from Linkman).

We have postponed the implementation until we can find a solution for this problem.

FWIW updating Linkman Pro to the latest version, yesterday, called IE which I use very seldom indeed.
On my  machine the key HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\http\shell\open\command yields:
Name: (default)
Data: "E:\Winsupps\Firefox\firefox.exe" -requestPending -osint -url "%1"

I'm not stating this as a complaint but it did cause a moment of very mild disapproval.

On which event was IE launched? Have you selected a special menu entry? Was it during installation, or when you started Linkman?

Mine's XP Pro also.
Probably not so weird; the only difference is that FF isn't installed to the default folder on my box.

A non default folder should be no problem, since Linkman parses all browser registry data values for the correct location. You can check if the path is correct by going to Tools | Settings | Browser.

p.s.

The default browser check is done only if Linkman detects a new installation. It does not happen if you had Linkman installed before.
