The escape bug has been fixed in 7.8.0.9.

As to the sorting. Please evaluate all the columns and post comments how empty cells should be handled with ascending and descending sorting.

105
I knew we forgot something! :) It will be fixed in the next build.

Yes, I realize that, but I was referring to the actual installer, which is a bit unfriendly, IMO. Would much prefer a regular installation routine.

As I wrote earlier Linkman Free will be replaced by Linkman Lite.

110
The new freeware version will be available this week. It's simply our strategy to give the Pro users a new version first.

111
[The only awkwardness is that they did not "Replace" the word "Replace" with "Edit" or "Update"]

We have replaced "replace" with "edit" 2 days ago (from 7.8.0.3 on).

We are waiting for the answer from Tallemu.

Which exact version of Online Armor are you using? Can you send a screenshot to linkman(at)outertech.com?

We have tested both the Shareware and Free versions of Online Armor, on a Fresh XP SP3 with Linkman 7.71 and no error popups showed up.

116
Looks like a bug, it's sorting by the first digit.

As to the search window. Which particular colors there?

117
launch count still does not import into Linkman in version 7.71.

It does on my system. Please send me your Powermarks database.

As to the other problem. You have described it differently before, I'll check it out.

118
This report is wrong. I guess Online Armor checks which API functions Linkman uses and because of Global Hotkey Handler Linkman implements (to allow user defined hotkeys to work outside of Linkman) this nonsense is displayed. I'll check it out next week.

Because of the gross number of functions Linkman implements we get such false positives quite a lot. Just last week a problem with PC-Tools, because Linkman supports (optional) network dialup.

It's like a war against bad (too sensitive) scanning engines.

119
Cannot reproduce so far.

What I've tried:

Opened search window from IE
Entered query text
Closed window
Reopened Window
Pressed Esc
query text was cleared

120
Linkman 7.71 is out:
<ul><li>Improved Powermarks import
<li>Added Shortnames to Separated Value File import
<li>Internet Explorer Toolbar allows to disable Linkman entries in IE's context menu
<li>Improved launching of multiple URLs at once
<li>Fixed a graphical glitch when batch assigning ratings
<li>When changing font size (Tools | Settings | Interface | GUI Font) the text size of comments and descriptions will also change
<li>Many other smaller tweaks and fixes</ul>Web: http://linkman.outertech.com

Tutorial video: http://linkmanvideo.outertech.com

121
Some sort of Internet Sync is planned for 8.0.

122
--Allow batch assigning ratings.  If I select a bunch of bookmarks and want them all rated "2" then I should be able to do it.  Now, if I select them all and go to assign a rating, it only does one of them.

We have looked at the function today and it's only a display glitch (which will be fixed). The rating is assigned, you can see this by doing the same query again (click on query button).

123
You can open a link in the current tab from within Firefox by using Javascript. This is why this works from a firefox addon.

If you send a URL to firefox from another other process (tried this both by using the command line and DDE) Firefox will always open a new tab.

Launching into the current tab from a process works with IE and Opera - you can check it by going into Tools | Settings | Launch URLs in Linkman (use existing window option).

124
Feature requests:
--Allow secondary column sorting.  For example, if I want to sort by launch count, but the launch count is equal, then the secondary sort can be set to rating or description, etc.

You can accomplish this already with a trick.

Example for primary sorting by comment and secondary sorting by launch date:

1. Go to Tools | Sort
2. Turn on Autosort and select up to 2 sorting methods (Sort Order 1 will equal to the second and Sort Order 2 to the third sort order in the query)
For this example this means you should set launch date as Sort Order 1 and leave Sort Order 2 at none.
3. Perform a query search and sort by comment (click once on the comment column header)

The result will be a display sorted by comment and if comment is equal, by launch date.

p.s.

Another Tip: you can change the order of the query columns by drag & dropping them.

125
I've added an item to the todo list that will let users of the Linkman IE Toolbar disable the context menu items.
