You might check out "Unison". I use Syncback on my Windows boxes, but Unison is cross platform and free. It  also offers command line version. It iks available under Windows and Cygwin for Windows

mouser, sure that is geenrally good diea if one wants to learn some new language. I just do not think that I will be able to have the dedicated focus for this contest. I need to learn a new language, come up with a game idea and actually make it. It sounds fun,but it is just a matter of timing issue for me. Although I would definetely be interested in how Haxe fits into this kinds of situations.

Has anyone been looking into this lately? I am kind of thinking to look at it more seriously mainly due to flash and javascript stuff.

Hi

I have been looking for a good media player for Linux. I generally use Foobar, Vlc and Mediamonkey on Windows.

I have tested some apps under Linux and I think I have closed down to these apps.

Jajuk (jukebox)
http://jajuk.info
This is a really nice jukebox.

Banshee (media player, organizer. It can also index movies)
http://banshee.fm/

RhythmBox (jukebox)
http://projects.gnome.org/rhythmbox/
I use this one when Banshee fails with usb player

General purpose media players
Vlc
Smplayer (Smplayer can play formats that Vlc fails to play sometimes)

If you want to share others please do expand my humble list.
