Living Room / Shared todo list manager

Hi

I am looking for a lightweight network based shared-syncing todo list manager.

-I do not want web application
-It needs to be small and light
-I want Ical based or has  its own sync feature.
-I do not want to run a web server
-Supporting global shortcuts would be great
-Command line support is always welcome
-Tree based todo list is a must have
-I like checkbox option for completion
-I would like a free software but I am ok with paying little money.


Probably rainlendar is an ok option but I am wondering if DC users know another application that they have tested or used. Todo list is amazing but it does not hae syncing as far as I know and I hate manually exporting and importing stuff.

At the moment I am using thunderbird-lighting but really they are heavier applications than I anticipate. And I am lookign for a task manager that has omnipresent feeling in which I can access easily or stays on deskop, wakes up quickly etc as well.




Please do not google, since google is not my friend. I am also looking for tested by DC MEMBERS.

Living Room / I need easy pdf emailing

Hi

I am using Pdfcreator for printing pdfs. It works great. My problem is that sometimes I just need to email documents-pages and I do not want to deal with saving, opening the saved folder and attaching the pdf. I can set auto save or auto emailing in Pdf creator but these are totally off solutions. All I need is "email as pdf" printer kind of application that would work with any software that supports printing. Basicaly I do not want to deal with saving and attaching manually.

Does anyone know any software for this purpose?

I am looking for an easy to setup, simple, small footrint smtp server for daily emails. I do not need mass emailing or other more complicated setups.

General Software Discussion / Integrated Time tracking Invoicing Billing Calendar software?

Hi

I am in need of a good application that can do multiple things about project management and billing.

At the moment I am using

-Taskcoach for time tracking(I was using timeless before but cannot import export things really)
-Quickbooks for invoicing
-Sunbird for calendar
-Wikidpad for keeping info about the project
-and couple other things to track stuff

Now as you see it gets very complicated becasue I need to use so many apps to get things done. What I am looking for(integrated)

-Time tracker
-Invoicing
-Invoice tracking
-Ability to put or attach notes, files to invoices(should not sent to the customer)
-Calendar that can show dates of sent invoices, tracked tasks, hopefully with different viewing settings
-Expense recorder
-Ability to import and export at least .csv based files
-Ical subscription would be nice

What I do not want

-No online apps please

General Software Discussion / Looking for Project management timeline software

Hi

I am looking for a software that would let me input tasks-events-projects. I know any calendar app can do this. But what I am looking for is to be able to visualize this data set in different ways. Many calendar apps can only do daily-weekly or monthly which does not serve my need. I am looking for something that can also show as gant charts or yearly timeline etc. At the moment I am using Gantt project and Lighting(mozilla). The main problem I have with Gantt project is that it does not support .ics calendar format(import or export) so I need to enter data multiple times in multiple applications. I use tracking software to track my time on projects. I can export the data from tracking app as .ics but Gantt project does not import any .ics calendar


Any suggestions? No googleing advices please. I am looking for applications that are used or tested by Dc members.

Hi

I tried to post on Ahk forums but I could not get any real help. I am hoping that Dc coders can crack this for bonus donation credits

What I am trying to do is,

-Xbutton1+Xbutton2=c key (sends c key)

-Xbutton1=Ctrl (when not in combo mode)

-Xbutton2=Shift  (when not in combo mode)



Here is the code I am using at the moment. But the problem is that I loose the functionality of Xbutton1. Everything works except Xbutton1 as individual button.

Hi

Due to my job I need to use Vpns and network browsing alot. I am wondering if there is any epxlorer replacement that can browse files faster. All the things I had tried lterally hangs once in awhile when I try to get file listing and I do hate that.

I tried

Freecommander, Ultra explorer, Xyplorer, Nexus etc These are all fine file browsers but they are not that good when it comes to network browsing.

Hi

I am looking for a messaging client that can handle multiple protocols. But the main thing I am looking for is something like writing a message but the message will be email to the user via given smtp server. I know I can use my email client. But I would like my email client to only handle important emails. Also I do not want to type names, sometimes I need to send very short messages-emails. Also many times most people do not use messaging clients, this should fill the vacuum for me

I have started using Lynx. it is great, it is awesome and it is a total no  b@llshit approach. It makes surfing fun again(no flash banners, no video ads, only text) ! I was wondering if there are any lynx user here, maybe we can create a tips and tricks section. I am relatively new user. I hope that more people would use it so that developement continues

I have proxy server on my laptop. Sometimes I need to use wired connection so my proxy server adress changes on other machines. I was wondering if there is an application that lets me toggle between proxy servers on the fly so that I do not need change proxy settings in every application.

Btw please do not suggest things like "google is your friend". Google is not my friend and I am looking for tested applications

Living Room / Is Opera sending information to Opera server everytime you hit enter?

I am using peerguardian2 beside my firewall for blocking and tracking. One thing I see in peerguardian window is that everytime I hit enter there is n port 80 connection to opera owned ip adress which is
http://213.236.208.60/ . This may sound paranoid but this does not sound right to me. Can anyone else confirm this? This is pretty much active tracking and I have no idea about the content of the packets.
Why would Opera send http request to opera servers everytime I hit enter. This is not an update check.

Living Room / Auto Vista update disabled wireless card on my toshiba laptop!!

The wireless card is not showing up after Vista`s auto update. I tried restoring to previouis states, updated drivers, reupdated vista. Nothing seems to work. Any suggestions?

Living Room / Logitech Customer service, thumbs up! tiny review.

Hi

I bought Laser MX keyboard and mouse from Logitech one year ago(I think it was around 150$). However the mouse lost middle mouse functionality recently, it was pretty much broken. I could not use middle click anymore. So I called the customer service. it was really no hassle talk, the guy was very nice on the phone. We did couple simple tests, checked system settings. And in the end he decided to send a totally new unit, both keyboard and mice( I had 3 year warranty on it). I just needed to fax my proof of purchase to Logitech. Then I got my new unit in 5-6 days. That was very good customer service! 

I have used Logitech high grade gadgets for long time. This was the first time a mouse lost the wheel-middle click function. But at least I got a new working unit again.

I had couple rectangle objects. I selected one accidentally and used crop. Fine I could just undo. But It did not work and make the matter worse. It seems like undo and crop do not like eachother?
