I would also like to see taming based on Harddisk activity ... (My AV/Spyware programs uses alot of Disk Time but not processor time).

Not sure what you would do for the memory usage issue (Freeze the process?) .... Firefox and Chrome won't like it

Profiles would also be a great idea. (i.e. Presentation Mode - Nerf the AV/AntiSpy/Windows Update and all the other good stuff that tries to grind the PC to a halt).

Or you could just split the file with a file splitter so it's smaller  

I number of Hex Editors Support very large files HxD is a free one that works on 5GB files on my machine. Frhed and 010editor may also work for you.

That just about exhausts me ..... I need to go lie down....

Look for Large file support

EditPad I think was ok for this and LTFViewer - Had to open and search very large website logs once..

LTFViewer was very fast to open as it only open's a section of the file. A few seconds for 10GB file

TextPad and UltraEdit are also generally ok with this size of file.

You would have to test them for your application of course and see which one suits you.

Do you really want to maximise or just restore a screen layout? Actual Window Manager can do this and there is a 50% discount at the moment on the DC specials page ... Just a thought ...

WindowPad AHK Script or gridemove as previously listed could also be useful?

Or Winsplit Revolution can be setup like gridemove with a custom grid ..

Not sure any exactly match what you are asking for ... but the AHK script might be useful.

Yes, thanks for sorting out the discount.

Another one to add to the list of windows managers (Works very well on my system for last 6 months). I already use Ultramon but the regular expression matching of window titles works well for me ...

Sorry for the delay. The GT is faster than the normal voyager ... (so I have read in other reviews).

I own both a Flash Voyager 8GB and Flash Voyager GT. The GT is much faster.

I have never had and issue to date using them. And vista works using the Voyager GT for 'Ready Boost' - although I am not sure the ready boost really does anything .... but that's another post.

To my knowledge you can only install on 1 pc and need to remove it to reload it on another PC. Assuming this is a retail license. oem licenses cannot be transferred.

However the windows activation will allow you to re activate the software a set amount of times due to hardware changes without requiring you to call microsoft ...

Thanks for the quick responce.

Yes a checkbox in the options which auto adds the caption to the screenshot would be great, that way I can perform multiple screenshots and the caption gets automatically added. (Also the custom date to support the '/', ':' or '\' in the caption only).

P.S. Scripting support would been even better .... :-) but I am not that greedy.

I know 3 other people who would use the function as they all use SPX Instant Capture.

I have an autoit script (from their forums) which triggers a screenshot via the printscreen while doing basic software testing (On Mouse Click). This acts as a record of what was entered on the screens during testing. (I know I should use WinRunner, QA Test or some other automated test suite ... but they cost a fair bit and I just do not need all the other functionality for the simple stuff with which I am involved).

I just want to know what was entered during testing without the  .. well I think i put this here but ... e.t.c. The 'tester' can enter the set of tests they are running in the quickfield and we are sorted.

Um ..... I think this post may have to be moved to the feature request section. 

It appears the add caption has to be triggered manually after each capture .... <insert words here>. I would like it automatically added.

Also the %customdate% is common for the caption and the file name.... however I would like to use  \  in the caption added to the image.

or ... maybe it's just me reading the manual wrong :-)

I am basically after the ability of the software to automatically save image with a given name which it does fine :-) but I would like it to add the caption automatically and then safe the output once or email the output.

Not sure how I missed this application while looking through the donation coder software.

I have used SPX Instant Screen Capture for years, as it seemed to be the only package that could take screenshots add a caption and autoname them the way I wanted.

Thanks to a bit of reading of the manual this time  . I no longer need to use SPX Instant Screen Capture. In fact this thing is on a par with Snag IT for the amount of functionality you get. (Add Paint.net and you're sorted.)

Anyway I digress, a big thanks to Mouser .... again.
