I'd love "the unification thing" as well, btw :-[ Pop open a submenu with latest clips from CHS (or a simple 'chs' alias in FARR...) :-*

Suppose this warrants a thread of its own though.

252
Yes, I wasn't being clear. What I meant, was that you could use a command-line mail checker and put its output in an LBC menu, like number of new e-mails, latest subjects, or similar. And if there are command-line RSS-tools as well, you could have your own News LaunchBar :) Not that I'd use that, but in theory it could be possible.

253
Sounds like a great idea. If I understand the idea properly you could use it to check mail with command-line e-mail-programs (which I take for granted can be found somewhere).

Once LBC with this feature is out there and we can play, I'm sure plenty of great uses will surface!

I'm certainly considering getting this, and hopefully get into a good backup routine. I'm preparing a WinXP reinstall, and suppose making an image of a freshly installed OS then regular file backups would be to way to go.

Took it for a test drive, and it was surprisingly fast making an image of the system partition

I noticed this as well. Worth it?

Really good to see you posting here again, Ken! I'm having a hard time really adjusting to eXtreme Movie Manager TBH, Collectorz really made a good app. But I'd love to move away from this company, which seems more intent on collecting money than anything else, really. A shame, since they make great software.  :-\

Congrats to the winners! The best file manager by far!! Also a big thanks to fenixproductions for setting this up!

Oh man... I really love TC. Best software ever IMO. Even edging out FARR (sorry mouser). ;)

I love Dexter! Highly recommended!

I thought it was still available on their website, but apparently not... I might have the installer for the latest 5.x version though, if you're interested. As long as you've still got your license for it, it'll work. Just PM me if you're interested.

As for the note from Alwin to "not upgrade to the latest if you still want feature X" comes too late for me as my databases have been converted.
Last time I checked v6 databases were still compatible with the latest v5.x of Movie Collector, so going back (well, forward in some cases) to MoC 5 should be no problem for you. I use both versions. v6 for regular usage, and v5 when I need to add DVDs since few Scandinavian releases are in the collectorz database. Bit of a workaround, obviously, but I really haven't found another product that I'm too happy with. Still looking though... sadly. :-\

Living Room / Re: Where did your DC user I.D come from?

Any die hard Sonic Youth fan will know ;)

But to anyone else: 'Tuck N Dar' is the title of a track on the soundtrack to a movie called 'Made in USA'. All the tracks on the soundtrack are by Sonic Youth, and I happened to be listening to this album the very first time I needed an online nick for some IRC chatting. I liked the title 'Tuck N Dar' so just picked that for my nick, and it stuck. Must've been something like 10-12 years ago.

262
Mine looks like that, so I guess you haven't got the latest version, J-Mac...

263
 ;D

264
Difficult to answer, really. Depends much on the category, but I suppose in general an application is useful if it's something I'd miss if it was removed. Maybe I'll find some better answers once I get around to reinstalling Windows... nlite is very useful in that context ;)

265
Good idea, Icon change would suffice, but an optional tray balloon tip might be nice as well.

what nudone and yksyks said!  :-*

Love this place, it's very special and there certainly isn't anything like it that I know of.  :drinksmiley:

Have to admit I find this incredibly funny. Makes me cringe and laugh at the same time  :o :-[ ;D

I was also driven crazy by that problem, until I began using USB Drive Letter Manager, which runs as a service. From http://www.uwe-sieber.de/usbdlm_e.html.
Each of my USB drives and external hard drives has a specific letter I chose so as not to conflict with the network, nor each other (set in an ini file) which my computer will always use.

Incredible utility! I use it for all my USB devices so I know that my iPod will get assigned to 'i' for instance and that the memory card from my camera also gets the same letter each time.

269
Great work! Very useful tool!

One of my all time favourite movies, Amelie. Seen it so many times but still keep finding new things to love about it. The traveling gnome is so funny and I've certainly had that idea, so maybe I'll jump aboard the ToyVoyagers.

nice find, mouser

Just registered to write a response ;)
If you see some problems in HippoEDIT ask on forum or write me personally. Would try as fast as I can ;)

And at the end:
As reviewer you can get a free hippoedit license (details here), if you do not have one already ;) Write me if you need it and do not have yet.

Best regards,
Alex.
Hi, Alex! Welcome to the forums! It's always good to see more developers using the DC forums!

Pressing 'Esc' should stop the search.

I like the new features in 2.56.01! Will certainly be very useful!

2all interested

I've contacted an author about discount and he couldn't agree for that but... he offered 10 free licences for DC members instead.

I think some kind of contest will start with the beginning of May :)

Wow, 10 licenses is great! Good work, fenix and thank you mr. Ghisler!
