Find And Run Robot / Re: Fsubscript doesn't play well with others
« on: August 23, 2009, 01:47 AM »
I'd like this version of fscript, but it doesn't exist on the server anymore :( Could someone please point me to another place where I can get it, or upload it here? Thanks.

Would you allow your screencasts to be downloaded? If I can play them from my own machine, they will probably play through to the end.
Maybe URLSnooper can be used for this? If you don't know how to use URLSnooper, first let mouser make a screencast for it... oh, right....

Who in their right mind spends $50 a year to host a movie collection? Well, good luck to them... :-\

General Software Discussion / Command line e-mail checker
« on: July 17, 2009, 03:49 PM »
Anyone know of a command line e-mail checking program for Windows, supporting IMAP? I've found several for sending e-mail, but I'd like one that'll check several IMAP accounts, and output at least number of new e-mails and preferably also some more details.

I posted it here to hear if you know of any programs like this, but might make another post in the IDEA-section if nothing surfaces.

anyway, thanks for reading in

btw the name of this tool is a bit confusing.. maybe something like "Mutliple App Hotkey" or "Single Hotkey Trigger" or something like that would be a bit clearer?
"Mutliple" eh? Does that count as me finding the error in your post, mouser? :P

btw, how about Mult-A-Key for a new name, based on mouser's first suggestion?

233
Great idea and well executed :)

I've been needing something like this on a couple of occasions, so thanks!

I'd love to see a plugin that searches the Linkman database. It's easy to pop up the Linkman search dialog, but integrating it into FARR would be even easier. Maybe the FarrFox plugin could be updated to also search Linkman?

235
I love LBC's new command line tool feature!! :-*

Find And Run Robot / Re: Help for a new user please
« on: July 05, 2009, 01:53 PM »
Like mouser says, the term 'alias' probably covers both the traditional kind of alias and more script-like functions. So while ideally these could be separated in the program, an alias section and a script section, it's probably a bit too late to do that now...

I too find the 'Group alias' term a bit confusing, but I guess I've gotten used to it.

added: the alias feature will probably be covered in mouser's screencasts in August!

237
4. modest suggestion: lists > aliases should as default always have the "myaliases.alias" selected (reason: almost all users going to lists > aliases are going for that, I think)
+1

Also some interesting other suggestions you've got there :)

The canned air has worked for me, but as I said, I found a guide explaining how to use it for my particular laptop. The guide included instructions to secure the fans so they wouldn't rotate. I'd never have tried this without a set of clear instructions. Cotton sticks (don't know a better word for it...) and a vacuum was indeed also very helpful in removing the dust. Temperature during normal use went from about 55C to 40C.

But search for your particular laptop model to find specific instructions, which can hopefully be found somewhere.

239
If it is the CPU overheating, what would be the best way of dealing with this without using an external laptop cooler?
Sounds like you've got dust in there. Have you ever cleaned the fans in your laptop? My laptop was overheating (not drastically like yours, but too much) so I found a guide on the net, bought a can of "canned air" and cleaned the fans. Solved it! If you've never cleaned your laptop, I'd put money on dust being the cause of the overheated CPU.

Thanks, pexplorer!

How about a similar discount for Resource Tuner..? :-[

241
How does Resource Tuner compare to the free program Resource Hacker (last updated in 2002, but still works). I don't need tools like these on a daily basis, but every once in a while I've used Resource Hacker to change dialogs, hard coded key accelerators and icons, and also done a bit of translating. Can be very useful for such purposes.

I'll certainly host Baby Cody :)

I bet my daughter would love to take him to Frognerparken :)

Post New Requests Here / Re: IDEA: Natural line sorting in file
« on: June 23, 2009, 12:35 PM »
Thanks, skwier, works great :)

Seems to me you need to "Ignore updates". Go to the bookmark config -> Advanced tab -> Ignore Updates, and put an entry with "No messages..." in the text field.

That should do it (at least works for me :-[ )

Post New Requests Here / IDEA: Natural line sorting in file
« on: June 22, 2009, 03:23 PM »
Ok, I suppose any decent text editor should be able to sort lines based on alphabet or numbers, but I'm looking for a tool that can sort lines based on Natural order sorting, i.e.

from this:
1. some text
10. yet more text
1011. Text
2. more text again
4. more text
to:
1. some text
2. more text again
4. more text
10. yet more text
1011. Text

No GUI necessary, btw. command line tool would be perfect :)

thanks!

Great post. I'm working out how to best do a reinstall, too, so another helpful guide is great :) Thanks Steven

Offer is today.

I went ahead and bought it (tax returns are due soon 8) ). Impressed with the speed of creating an image and certainly like it so far. Hope I won't really need to restore, but the knowledge that I have the option sure is relieving

249
Any ETA on a public version?  :tellme:

it has 100% accurate handwriting recognition and can easily be used by multiple users
Strange, my version of pen&paper only has about 85% accurate handwriting recognitiion, and while I've tried it with multiple users, there seems to be some problems with their recognition engines :-[
