Found Deals and Discounts / Re: ListPro on Bits du Jour today
« on: September 23, 2009, 01:04 AM »
ListPro on BDJ again today. http://www.bitsdujou...om/software/listpro/
Price: $9.95

I can highly recommend this software. Very useful both for todo-style lists, inventory, collections and the like.

i didn't think anyone was paying attention, let alone watching.

i actually did make 5 screencasts in the last week, but they were for a new program i've been working on and not yet released :)
First of all, I've been watching most of them! Thanks for making them, even if there's not a lot of feedback :-[

Second, exciting to hear you working on a new program! Any more info on that, or you're keeping it a secret until it's ready?

Living Room / Re: Permanently Delete Your Facebook Account

I agree that myspace is evil, but that's a combination of no more than three things:
1) most pages there look like throwup from a early-nineties HTML editor.
2) there's too many XxXcoreXxX cluetards.
3) it sucks :)
So I'm not alone in thinking that. Thank you! The first thing that comes to mind whenever I for some reason visit a MySpace site is "what the ... were they thinking!?"

I rather like FaceBook, though :-[

Fixed!

Typeracer - Eee 900

Your speed: 76 wpm
Accuracy: 97.2%

Typeracer - Memorex mx3300

Your speed: 87 wpm
Accuracy: 97.6%

I suck :(
If you suck, I'm not even going to post my results :'(

For me Linkman Lite does everything I want it to (and a whole lot more, actually). So I don't really miss Powermarks all that much, even if it certainly was an incredible piece of software.

207
I haven't used their support system, but I also have the impression that they really care about their customers. And the software itself is, as you say, really good. I've used a few discounts first for buying SE then for upgrading to Pro, although I can't claim to be using a major part of the futures, tbh... Another thing on my todo-list, I'm afraid. :-\

I have a question for the accomplished keyboarders here - which finger do you use to strike backspace? The Internets are divided on this, with a lot of people preferring the ring finger to the pinkie and some even using the middle.
Definitely the pinkie!

I have a strange problem with TimeZone (TZ). The plugin does what I expect, but whenever I have TZ loaded, FARR will stay open when I launch a program. So in other words, if I type notepad and press enter, FARR will launch notepad, but still remains open, unless I remove TZ. Then FARR will do as expected, i.e. launch notepad and "disappear"

Any idea what could be causing this? Must be a conflict somewhere?

210
Yes, everything related to FARR, really

212
Maybe a stupid Q, but is the wiki intended to be limited to plugins or for aliases as well? I'd surely vote for it to cover aliases, since it's highly unlikely that I will ever be able to do more FARR programming than a couple of alias packs.

213
I like this idea!

+1

Find And Run Robot / Re: FARR Google Calculator Plugin

Excellent! Works now, czb. thanks!

215
farrdev.dcmembers.com - easy to pronounce and allows for all kind of FARR development, i.e. not just limited to plugins, but possible alias wiki entries as well.

I get that too, don't remember when it started, 'cause I remember it working once, but I just forgot to actually report it... :-[

It's really such an awesome plugin so I'd like to have it working again. will provide any necessary info to help!

217
Thanks for doing this, mouser. I've learned a lot, not least that I'm miles away from using FARR to it's full power :-[ But this is certainly much appreciated.

Btw, about the last screencast with the Search Behavior Options tab, some of these options have moved to a different tab, called Folder Browsing, in case anyone was wondering ;)

Adventures of Baby Cody / Norway

Baby Cody, you're invited to Norway!

If you want to see the snow, then I suggest you wait until December before coming here, but you're obviously welcome any time :)

Looking forward to seeing you!

General Software Discussion / Re: video editing software

Thanks for your reply, patteo! Btw, there is a forum there now actually. And as you've said, the author seems very quick to respond and active, which is good. I'll just go on with the trial and see... :)

Ok, so reviving this thread might serve little purpose, but then again...

well, anyway, BDJ has an offer for MPEG Video Wizard DVD on 3rd September. The price is only $20 so pretty good offer (if the software is good that is!).

So I'm wondering if anyone's using this application regularly and if so, how happy you are with it? patteo..? I've used the trial for a few minutes and except from the interface (why not just go with regular windows GUI?!?) I must say that I really like this one. It seems quite simple, but looks to have all the features I need, so I might well go for it. Any opinions?

221
There's not a multi-language version of FARR, but I think it's on the wishlist somewhere.. right, mouser?

222
I use my printer about as much as I've always done, really. Not very often, but certainly from time to time...

General Software Discussion / Re: Spotify
« on: August 26, 2009, 12:55 PM »
I like Spotify, although I'm getting tired of the ads, I suppose. But it's a good solution for listening to new music, and if I'm having a party or similar the 24 hours without ads deal is pretty good, so I'm definitely a fan even if it won't replace my music collection.

btw I got some nice Spotify alias' for FARR. They weren't made by me, but I'll post them if the original author doesn't (have to look at my PMs to see who I got them from...  :-[ )

DAY 23:

Today's video takes a look at the Keyboard Interface Options of [url=https://www.donationcoder.com/Software/Mouser/findrun/index.html]FARR[/url
;D I love it when you explain the Ctrl+Alt+# thing, "ok, I don't know what this does... ok, so that's not really useful" Makes me wonder how many features of FARR you yourself discover while making these excellent screencasts...? ;)

btw, I really love these screencasts. They're very well made, IMO, and I've certainly learned a bit! Thanks!
