Weird but you were right.

Re-uploading.

Weird... I used WinRAR, true.
However, I told it to archive it as ZIP file.

Lemme look.

Ha. And no. Someone that can REALLY annoy me.

I wish there was an application that would remind me to do something at certain times annoyingly like WorkRave.
For example, something that would annoy me to go to sleep early would be great :).

Anyone knows anything like that?

I've uploaded a new version of the C# SDK. It now includes a simplified layer that allows more object oriented plugins to be created easily.

Also, it now includes template for those that got a bit confused with the numerous post/pre build events and the whole integration process.
Hopefully now it will just work :).

31
Is it working with VS 2008 Express editions?
I have both, C# and C++ environments here but compilation always stops on "VCBuild.exe cannot be found" message.

I only tried compiling with VS 2005. Try its express edition maybe?

FARR Plugins and Aliases / Re: New C# FARR Plugin: FARRAltTab
« on: October 16, 2008, 07:19 PM »
Hi Jabberwock,
They are great suggestions. However, I hardly have time lately to work on FARR :(.

If you're into programming feel free to download the source code of FARR Alt+Tab and tinker with it or create a new version.

Living Room / Re: World of Goo - Indie Game with Great Reviews?
« on: October 16, 2008, 08:43 AM »
Bought it it yesterday and I am VERY pleased by the difficultly, the physics and the presenetion.

It is REALLY hard. It has 50 levels but it gets HARD after the first 10, however, it is the FUN kind of hard. You have to think, to tinker and to try different options. That's what's great about physics games.

It is essentially the strangest combo between "Bridge Builder" and "Gish". It is funny, slick, with pretty graphics and great sound but in the end, you essentially build structures with different materials.

It is not a game for everyone, but just the kind I'd suggest for anyone to try because you just might love it.

All in all, it is an awesome game and well worth the 20$.

Well. I am not sure if you're familiar with Pocket PC/Windows smartphones, however, the main screen on the Phone is called Today (i.e your Today's Agenda).

For now I solved the issue by syncing MLO with Outlook tasks and displaying those on the smartphone.

35
A question for reviewer (or anyone else who knows):
I am evaluating MLO for a Pocket PC and I am rather confused about how am I to track the current tasks.

I hoped there would be some kind of Today/SMB Shell plugin that integrates and shows them. But now it seems that I have to load the app for that? Seems rather annoying too as the application is relatively heavy to load :(

36
Glad you enjoy it :).

I see the problem. I see two possible fixes:
1) You make it so the proxy in IE is fixed before FARR is ran.
2) I can do some exception handling that makes the plugin show "connection unavailable" when it can't connec.t

Obviously #2 would be the best option but I have very little time last months to work on FARR. What are you options regarding #1?

Living Room / A smarter way of playing music on your iPod
« on: August 08, 2008, 01:03 PM »
I wrote a short article about a smarter way to listen to your music on the iPod:

When I am using my iPod choosing a song or an album is quite a task - I have a moderate collection of 220+ albums (1600+ songs). Browsing through all of them to decide which song/album I want to hear now can be rather time consuming. I’d much prefer if I could just turn it on and let it play.

In theory I could just add all my songs and set the iPod on shuffle. However, there are a few issues there:

1) I don’t want to hear songs that I heard recently, which means a song that was played yesterday shouldn’t be played again.
2) I’d like the number of stars that I give to a song to effect how often the iPod plays it (e.g play a 5 starred song every 14 days but a 3 starred song every 30 days).
3) When I listen to a new album I want to listen to it more than anything else to get acquainted to it.
4) I also hear very different kind of music (Metal and Progressive rock) and I wouldn’t like them to mix.
5) I need an easy way to manage this system; adding new albums should be quick and easy.

If you're interested, you can read the full article here.

The betas are being sent slowly on purpose to handle issues that the current beta users report, so you'd have to be patient.

I tried to use the mouse pointer with it. It works, but it is hardly comfortable.

Similar colors do pose a problem however, in proper lighting it is a very minor one. CamTrax works by locking on a NEW object that it sees in a specified location. And the lock is a lot more complex than described in the first post - It locks on the form, on the color AND it keeps learning as you play with it. If you intentionally take the object out of the camera view it will try to lock on a different object with the same color, however, it hardly ever happens normally.

39
Good article. Some comments:

I've got my copy too and it is pretty responsive. A lot more than I expected. It has several issues:

1) You must be in a well-lit enviorment.
2) The overall GUI feel is a bit buggy.

However. With that said, the Soccer game (the one that is seen in the promotional video) plays great. You can actually bounce the virtual ball and it feels very responsive and AWESOME. They need to develop some better (physics based) games and it CAN be WII killer after all.

Wait wait, do you remember to finish your text with a "]"?

Find And Run Robot / Re: FARR 2.10.01
« on: June 25, 2008, 02:44 AM »
Woah. I had no idea about this and yes, probably ALL C# plugins are affected.
I never used "Ctrl+Alt+Enter" so I never noticed.

Now the only thing left is to guess what functionality of the SDK causes it :(.

42
Fixed and uploaded. Latest version should include it.

Find And Run Robot / Re: FARR not launching stuff
« on: June 15, 2008, 03:26 AM »
Not sure if it is related but I had an issue with the latest plugin I made.

When I didn't set a caption text (the text that appears in the status bar when you select an item), FARR would not register  the execution of the item. However, it happened only when there were other plugins installed. When it was just this single plugin it worked fine.

44
I tried installing it and restarting FARR. FARR crashed with the following error window.
 (see attachment in previous post)

Put the attached file (unzip contents) in the directory and tell me if that helps. If it does, I'll put it to the zip.

I also installed the file you linked to and gcalc crashes farr for me as well. When restarted, farr crashes again with the attached error.

Your case is kinda strange. Can you try to go the URL that is displayed in your messagebox? What does it say? It can also be an issue with your credentials but not sure.

45
For some reason, this does not work for me. I tried installing the plugin through DcUpdate and also tried the manual method, but the plugin simply does not even get detected by FARR. I even tried reloading all the plugins from within FARR.

Try to download the following update from Microsoft that should resolve your problem.

46
Description

This plugin serves in two modes:

1) See your upcoming events up and directly go to them. Defauly keyword: gcal
2) Use the QuickAdd feature of Google Calendar to quickly add events. Before actually creating an event, you are given a preview of the date. Defauly keyword: gcal add

Thanks to czechboy for the inspiration :)

Download

As with any C# plugin, if you don't see the C# plugin in the FARR plugin list after the installation then download the following update from Microsoft.

Known issues

  • The user/password is stored in the options file in plain text.
  • You can't add external calendars

Find And Run Robot / Re: Today is release day !!!
« on: June 09, 2008, 04:12 AM »
Great! Glad to see progress in FARR.

First of all, for the enjoyment of everyone, here is one cool use for web mode right away:
igo http://www.google.co...p;ctz=Asia/Jerusalem

Second, found a bug in web-mode. Details to recreate:
1) igo google.com
2) Search anything else with FARR to quit web mode
3) igo google.com

Well, it isn't quite what you wanted but it is the closest I know:

You can't download it yet but it shouldn't be too long until a public beta.

Living Room / Re: Cam-Trax - Control games/computer with webcam
« on: May 31, 2008, 05:46 PM »
well, cameras nowdays are 30fps usually. But yeah, I would use it for an FPS.

It should be great for competative sports games and such.
