General Software Discussion / Re: Dual Boot Win7 - Win7
« on: September 16, 2009, 11:20 AM »
Hi,

thanks a lot for your ideas. Bcdboot works just great :Thmbsup: One little issue. When the pc starts, before the screen where I choose the system I get warning:
pci controller error
but the booting procedure continues. Do you know what it means?

Thanks

1. set up the 2nd system from within the 1st win system. I.e., boot into the 1st win 7, and run win 7 setup there. The setup program should create the boot loader menu you need. There will be only one boot loader, residing on the 1st win system's base hard drive.

yeah that is what I have tried but, I do not know why, win 7 did not create loader menu...

Try using EasyBCD to create a second boot entry from within the bootable installation. You need to set the path of the second installation to the drive letter recognised by the running system (eg. your running system is on drive C: but the non-booting version appears as drive E: then set the path in EasyBCD to E:\).

I have also tried that. But there is no option for Win7. There is only vista / longhorn option which does not look like it is working. I always set up the second system correctly with correct letter assigned but still no option appears at the boot.

What I would like to do is to have one system for work and the other for stuff like F# which needs beta of ms studio etc... So I would not worry about messing up the system.

Thanks for your ideas I will keep trying until I make it work :). Or another ram might also be a solution ;)

Thanks. I did it as you said but this:
8. When you reboot you should get the option of two versions of Windows 7 at boot
did not appeared. That is the problem. I do not know why... :(
So now I have 2 partitions with two win7 systems, 1 hidden win7 partition and 1 "data" partition and I just need to enable boot options...

about the licence: I am going to use win7 trial version. 90 days is for playing more than enough ;)

General Software Discussion / Dual Boot Win7 - Win7
« on: September 10, 2009, 04:28 AM »
Hi,

I would like to have one production system and one "playing" system. I can not use virtualization as I have only 2GB of ram (I think it is not enough for two Win 7 systems). So I would like to have dual boot of two Win7 systems. I have Win7 on C drive. I have created new partition F and installed another Win7 hoping that Win7 will create boot loader to let me decide which version of the two win7 to load. It did not happen. So I tried to create boot loader by easybcd but it looks like it is not able to create win7 boot loading option. So do you have any idea how to make win7 - win7 dual boot to work? Or any other ideas how to have 1 system for playing and installing all crazy stuff and the other for serious work?

Thanks for any idea.

Oldrich

Find And Run Robot / Re: FARR Google Calculator Plugin
« on: September 08, 2009, 08:45 AM »
I've never been able to get gcal to work - no matter what I type, I get "Nothing found.", but I don't have any idea how it's supposed to work, either. When I installed the czb pack, I got some html help files, but with the exception of JSCalc, all the help topics just say something about typing in text for the "New Tiddler". Does anybody else have it working, or know how it's supposed to work?

Thank you very much for pointing out. I never noticed because I never used it :P I prefer to use jscalc. But I will fix it asap :Thmbsup:

EDIT: it should be corrected by now. You can either download new version of czb pack of modify one line in fsubscript.js

from
string = string.match(/
.*?calc_img\.gif.*?(.*?).*?
/);
to
string = string.match(/<table.*?calc_img\.gif.*?(.*?).*?
/);

Do you see the difference? :D

Hi,
i have uploaded new version of CZB pack. Only very minor things were changed:
 • modified Ninjawords accorigng to Nod5 ideas - thanks ;)
 • Hopefully corrected timer "date" bug. Thanks CleverCat

if you find any other bugs, or have any ideas let me know. I have some time for CZB coding now :Thmbsup:

IMPORTANT: CZB pack has got new location. It means that the updater will not work. You have to redownload the new CZB pack

Hi,
a few months ago I began writing some docs but I have not time to continue in that as I am quite busy at school right now. So for a function list and description of some of them can be found here:
http://czb.dcmembers.com/help/FARR
If anybody is interested in writing the docs I can provide login.

I like it ;) I think it has got a great potential! :Thmbsup: Maybe it is a first step of full Mathematica port to internet?

yes. that should be the procedure. Concerning the DC updater I think mouser is rewriting the dcupdater and therefore he did not update the plugin database.

well ryt100 is using IE7 as he mentioned. I think there is something either directly in javascript or in fscript.dll which executes the javascript

the scripts use no javascript (only execjs calls from plugin) and just divs etc, so I do not think it would be something inside IE. but who knows...

Thanks for testing it out ;)

Trattu bamboo made FARR freeze? That is interesting as there is nearly nothing in it, so if it is so then it will be easier to find the bug :Thmbsup:

So pls confirm that trattu bamboo freezes your FARR (all other scripts deactivated) and then I will try to make debug script to see what is wrong.

Yeah.. it is never ending bug which nobody knows where it is. I guess it will be something with dll. Does this happen only for jscalc or all scripts? Have you tried to disable all scripts (by fssc) but jscalc? Try out table data search as people reported this happen with it too when it was a standalone plugin.

DcUpdater / Re: Eight FARR Plugins Are Failing on DCUpdater
« on: March 18, 2009, 01:28 AM »
Thanks for pointing out.

I have to tell mouser to update the dc update list. It would also be nice if there was an option in DCupdater to warn user that the plugin has been discontinued and where to find the latest one.

PS: My pages are still incorrect too but I will modify them soon

if you are used to Launchy kind of app you might try out FARR (Find and run robot) + Google translate script
see: https://www.donation...ex.php?topic=17153.0

But if you do not use FARR then there might be a simpler tool, which would do what you need ;)
