Folks,
I'm looking for a simple web interface/database to keep track of camping sites for Boy Scout troops (and others if interested) in New England (USA).  Ideally it would be one that people could log into in order to make their own contributions, rate the sites, etc.

I found one online site that was awfully cool although way overkill, and apparently no longer supported athttp://campingpilot.com/home.php3

I imagine there may be 20-30 people at the most who update it, a couple hundred people who view it with any frequency, and maybe 100 records.

For each campsite I'd like to keep track of location, contact info, website (if available), capacity, facilities (ie. tents, adirondacks, cabins, drinking water, dining hall), fees, and user comments for each.

Is there some piece of software that could be easily adapted to this purpose?  Is there a site like this that already exists?

Thanx tons,
Curtis

Temptation blocker might have potential, 'cept my kids can be pretty determined if I'm not in the room! :-)

Folks,
Is there anyone here sufficiently well-versed in building plug-ins, particularly for Copernic Desktop Search (or I'd even settle for Google Desktop Search if someone beat me with it)?  There are a fair number of people asking for it, but nobody seems to be able to find one.  Same thing goes with MindManager.

Any ideas?

thanx,
Curtis

tinjaw, you're sense of humor kills me. But only if the deflection and delegation don't get me first!

I'd love to help out in writing some mini-reviews.

One really cool tool that I found here at DC was instantboss--I love it as a motivational timer.  I've got it set up so that my kids work for 1/2 hour and get a 10-minute break.  Course, they always seem to be on their break!

I've created an account called "Homework" and made it more limited access, but haven't figured out how to lock out all permissions except for a select few apps.  And.... they keep bringing games home on their flash drives.  I can't lock out the usb ports, as they have their homework files on the flash drives as well.

Folks,
Is there an application that will help me limit all flash, java, and other games, but allow Word, Outlook and a couple of other programs to run so I can ensure my kids aren't wasting their time playing games when they should be doing their homework?

Thanx,
Curtis

I'm looking for an Endnote (http://endnote.com/) (and a Mindjet MindManager!) plug-in for the Copernic Desktop Search (http://www.copernic....ucts/desktop-search/) utility.  There are a number of people who are dying to have one.  Anyone ever seen something like it?  Anyone willing/able to create one?

Folks,

I'm looking for a simple price comparison utility that I can use to keep track of the best prices for consumables.  For example, the lowest price for milk was $2.39 at Market Basket 8 months ago.  The sale in today's newspaper has it for $2.49--not the best deal ever.

If it was incorporated into a shopping list application, that'd be cool, but not absolutely necessary.

Any ideas?

Thanx,
Curtis

If you're running windows XP pro, i think that probably there is such a setting in gpedit.msc.

Just do this: go to start -> run -> gpedit.msc -> User Configuration -> Administrative Templates -> Control Panel -> Display -> 'Hide Screen Saver Tab'
That way, they won't be able to change the screensaver, though.

That's cool!  Thanx!  I'll give it a try.

Does anyone know of a hack/tweak that will allow me to protect the screensaver setting "On resume, display Welcome Screen"?  My kids turn it off and conveniently forget to log off after their computer time has elapsed...  >:(

Thanx tons!
