UrlSnooper / Re: Livestation .m3u8 streams.

I've managed to fix this myself.

I had a look at some Windows Updates installed prior to this problem showing itself and one, a none security related DirectX update was causing it.

After uninstalling that update the streams are working fine now.

This sort of thing just makes me more stubborn to upgrade to Win10 because of the forced updates policy which is going to mess a lot of people up in my opinion.

Cheers,

Colin

UrlSnooper / Livestation .m3u8 streams.
« on: August 18, 2015, 10:44 AM »
Hi,

I found these streams (from Livestation.com) with Url snooper but I can't get them to play:-

http://wpc.c1a9.edgecastcdn.net/hls-live/20C1A9/cctv_news/ls_satlink/b_828.m3u8 (CCTV News.)

http://wpc.c1a9.edgecastcdn.net/hls-live/20C1A9/france24_en/ls_satlink/b_828.m3u8 (France24.)

I've tried PotPlayer (which plays my other .m3u8 stuff) and also MPC_Home Cinema which normally works but neither can recognize the streams.

The streams don't appear to be protected in any way and as I'm from the UK they shouldn't be country restricted.

Can anyone else get them to play as if so it may be my isp that is blocking them for some reason and if that's the case then I'll have words about it.

Appreciate some help with this.

Cheers,

Colin

Hya,

Your streaming link is this: http://livestream-f.akamaihd.net/9263055_3189799_ecf61b90_1_2320@100552 (this is a 2mb stream and there are other faster/slower speeds as well but this feed is the one as on the website.)

Only trouble is that it pauses after a few seconds after I try it. I've tried three media players and all act the same.

It maybe something to do with the adverts that kick in when viewing the browser stream. They are on different servers and maybe needed for the stream to be continuous.

Or it may be ip protected and as I'm from the UK the direct stream may not be viewable from here.

Anyway you're welcome to give it a try and I hope it works for you.

Cheers...Colin

Now that's great, that extra option of checking/unchecking Auto Show New Packets makes all the difference in the world.

Thanks for putting it in Mouser
