MicMute just mutes the playback volume, not the input volume.
This means although the sound going into the mic isn't echoed out the speakers, other applications (i.e. Speech Recogition) still 'hear' the microphone.

I think.

:) Also check out MicMute at www.donationcoder.com/Software/Skrommel.

Skrommel

Sort of what I was after; but I want to mute the recording volume - I'm using Voodoo Voice and it's incredibly sensitive, even when your Speech Rec option are set to High Sensitivity (only acts if it is 100% sure of what you said), so I only want the mic inputting to the computer when I want it to.

Thanks for the reply, though :)

Hi,

How about a little thingy that runs in the background, and keeps your Microphone Recording volume at '0', unless a specified hotkey / combo is pressed, in which the recording volume is raised to the normal level? Maybe it could be made to invert this as well (i.e. push-to-mute)?

EDIT: Oh, yeah. Apparently Bob sent me.

Thanks,
-Jarrad
